What determines Human development index?
• The Human Development Index (HDI) is a comparative measure of life expectancy, literacy, education and standards of living for countries worldwide.
• Countries fall into two categories of HDI– Less Developed country (LDC)– More Developed country (MDC)
Geo Terms
• Per Capita Income- Income per person; most often measured by dividing a nation’s GDP ( the total value of goods and services produced by a nation) by its population.
• Life Expectancy-The average number of years that a person can expect to live.
• Adult literacy rate- the percentage of persons aged 15 and over who can read and write.
