The Design ProcessA reminder (on what the DAG team already been doing): Week 1: did the DT-HCD Intro phase and produce 2 prototypes.Week 2: Discover Phase 1 decide to take our own DESIGN Challenge & produce the HMW Question: How might we encourage good garbage dumping habits among undeserved children in Kampong Pondok Pucung, Tangerang, INDONESIA? Week 3: Discover Phase 2 did our research by initiating an event ‘COLOR YOUR KITE’ dayWeek 4: Ideation Phase – Surprise! After gruelling session we developed our new HMW Question: How might we generate the community (of Kampong Pondok Pucung, Tangerang, INDONESIA) to keep their kampong uncluttered/orderly in order to lift up their pride?WEEK 5: Prototype Phase 1 - Hardest part, as we have to build our ideas into something tangible, enriched one’s experience and of course meaningful! We chose then to do URBAN KAMPONG FARMING!, WEEK 6: Prototype Phase 2 – Create the prototype : CCC – Cultivating, Composting, ColoringBBB – Berkebun, Biopori, Bermain in Indonesian

OUR NEW ‘HMW’ QUESTIONHow might we generate the

Community (of Kampong Pondok Pucung, Tangerang, INDONESIA) to

keep their kampong uncluttered/orderly in order

to lift up their pride?

The Prototyping:CCC – Cultivating, Composting, Coloring

BBB – Berkebun, Biopori, Bermain in IndonesianPut together, the three activities Cultivating, Composting, Coloring or CCC will be our prototype for Urban Kampong Farming Campaign. It will respond to our themes from Ideation phase: VALUE, HOPE and HYGIENE. It will be for the mothers (although not limited) and the children, where they can farm and have fun, while in the same time change their attitude towards garbage .The prototype that we

built tried to respond to the real limited space (pic.on the right). The width is only + 50 cm and use for hanging clothes. While inserting CCC, our prototype will still incorporate local habits.

Team DynamicsWe love to work together, and it was during the DISCOVER & IDEATE we

are both most inspired and frustrated! We always reach resolutions!

The CourseMost successful part: always push us to work collaborative and think

OUT OF THE BOX! Weakest part difficulties on discussing with you guys, the IDEO team, Thus we propose: (1) appoint ex-member as

representation in each region; (2) train them, and; (3) make a competition with a grant for the most successful and innovative team

Us!Most natural for us: DISCOVER phase

Hardest part: IDEATE phase – We kept asking, are we ON TRACK? Missing skills set: DISCOVER & PROTOTYPE phase, thus we need

Anthropologist/Sociologist for helping us empathize with community member; and specific technical skills for building prototypes.

What the others Do Jakarta Bianglala is doing kampong gardening too, very interesting! We kept asking why, and here are our opinion: we share the same culture,

the same geographic context, more or less the same people (urban kampong community), so therefore same problems. But why the same

ideation? (the same) Culture and (low) technology accessibility!

Our next 3 steps Cultivate testing by ourselves, Create Campaign

and CCC Prototype refinement

OUR STILL BELOVED ‘HMW’ QUESTION

How might we generate the Community (of Kampong Pondok

Pucung, Tangerang, INDONESIA) to keep their kampong uncluttered/

orderly in order to lift up their pride?
