Hello Everyone, Throughout the year we have a number of courses available to our volunteers willing to support and run sessions and contribute some time in return. Examples include: National Standards instructor – 4 Days - To be able to teach anyone how to ride safely on the road and necessary to become a Bikeability instructor (previously known as cycle proficiency). This will also include an extra days assessment Cycle Maintenance – 2 Days First Aid – 2 Days Throw Rope with Adventure Activities taster (necessary for anyone leading a group of cyclists or walkers near canals or other waterways. Includes canoeing and archery tasters also) For example course content please see: http://www.ctc.org.uk/courses-training/leading- instructing-and-training-others/courses-for-instructors/ national-standard http://www.ctc.org.uk/courses-training/personal-skills-development/ maintenance-skills/maintenance-course-suite Further information on requirements: These courses typically cost between £120 and £500 to get yourself on so it’s not to be sniffed at! HAT would cover the full cost of the course for you. HAT cannot cover any accommodation costs but may be able to cover travel costs. The time you would have to give back is dependent on your circumstances and arranged independently As part of this ‘time in return’ commitment, you would be expected to use your new qualifications to run an pre-agreed number of sessions for HAT All of our course are the nationally recognised standard and some would set you up for becoming self-employed if you ever chose to do so

Cycle Maintenance – 2 Days First Aid – 2 Days Throw Rope with Adventure Activities taster (necessary for anyone leading a group

of cyclists or walkers near canals or other waterways. Includes canoeing and archery tasters also)

Further information on requirements:

These courses typically cost between £120 and £500 to get yourself on so it’s not to be sniffed at! HAT would cover the full cost of the course for you. HAT cannot cover any accommodation costs but may be able to cover travel costs.

The time you would have to give back is dependent on your circumstances and arranged independently As part of this ‘time in return’ commitment, you would be expected to use your new qualifications to run an

pre-agreed number of sessions for HAT All of our course are the nationally recognised standard and

some would set you up for becoming self-employed if you ever chose to do so

If there is enough interested, and a set of dates can be coordinated, then we can get the instructor to come to Huddersfield. If not, then you are responsible for arranging and paying for any travel and accommodation

If you have any questions or are interested, please email me back.

Many thanks,

Chris.
