about meAnamaria is a consultant in the area of sustainable development

and entrepreneurship, working for various organizations such as the World bank, Technoserve, Ventures, the Dutch embassy, among oth-ers. prior to this, she was a management consultant at McKinsey & Co, where she worked in strategies projects in Dominican republic, Colombia, and brazil. prior to her MbA and masters in environmental management at Yale, she consulted for the Colombian Ministry of environment. she worked at the non profit Ashoka, supporting social entrepreneurs focused on environmental innovations, in Washing-ton, new Delhi, bogota, and Lima. she is the co-founder of Aldeafeliz ecovillage (www.aldeafeliz.org).

my Contribution to the hubi am a member of the steering group, focusing on the business plan

and value proposition. i am a networker at heart, and have already sent numerous invitations to people to join the group. so far, i have recruited at least 10 people, and am in the process of bringing 15 more which i invited today.

WHAT inspires MeWhat inspires me are initiatives that embody my values, which happen

to be the same values as those of Hub-bogota: Co-creation, integrity, sustainability, flexibility, and diversity. i am inspired by entrepreneurs, and their commitment to a cause or project, particularly if this project brings benefits to the larger whole. i am inspired by topics of personal development, ecology, organizational

development, and sustainable development. Cutting edge thought, inno-vation, connecting ideas… all of that grabs my attention.

biGGesT qUesTion AboUT THe HUb?The biggest question i have about Hub right now has to do with its

financial sustainability. i would like us to generate a set of marketable services which brings a win-win to the members and the community as a whole.

about meMy passions include music, philosophy, human freedom, transcen-

dence, learning to live the moment. i studied mathematics, film and philosophy (not at once), and this sequence illustrates my shift in life: from science to humanity.Currently i engage in activities and projects relating to personal lib-

eration, personal growth, and education. i am part of the Core Team of the Hub-Colombia which is a community of committed entrepre-neurs determined to shift the culture of doing things in Colombia by hosting support networks for social entrepreneurs and others. our committment to values of change guide the endeavour always into new paths and new ideas.

my Contribution to the hubi belong to the Core Team. My contribution is hard to define. i think

i help to host the space, but mostly (and the role i would like to fully embody) is to help people overcome the obstacles that prevent them from becoming what they in their hearts wish to become. We are all entrepreneurs... some of us highly afraid. but the spark of hope and transcendence is in the heart of everyone.

WHAT inspires MeTo me, inspiration and intimidation are not entirely apart. Typi-

cally i would like to be something, yet when someone is that very something, i feel intimidated: somebody has done it. This means it is possible, i have no excuse. in this sense, people who transcend their fear inspire me. people who create great art from the heart inspire me. Committed people inspire me. Yet all of these carry their seed of intimidation as well.

about meMy first degree is in marketing and advertising and from that point i

have studied, explored and worked in Arts Management, Web De-sign and Csr. Lately, an Msc course in Human ecology has given me a platform to orientate my work to what i think is essential for our planet: to strengthen environmental and social justice.

my Contribution to the hubi am member of “equipo motor”

WHAT inspires Mei am inspired by naturei am inspired by urban agriculture and the opportunity that gives

people living in urban areas to reconnect with nature and the cycles of life.i am inspired by all the individuals who are working to contribute to

the welfare of their communities and planet, and particularly at this moment, by hub members in Colombia who are dreaming and work-ing hard for this dream.

biGGesT qUesTion AboUT THe HUb?Can we build a social business that will provide benefits to members

of the hub and also to those that are not members? Can we take the hub and the message of social innovation to circles where people have never heard of this term? Can we take the hub to people who are not educated, for example illiterate people?

about mei am not sure what`s my contribution to the HUb, in fact i am not

even sure i understand what i`m doing here. A part of me has been searching for what i call “a tribe”. it`s been a long walk, going back and forth between what i am “suppose” to do, and what my heart longs for.i left Colombia 15 years ago. i think that my escape responded to an

unexplicable need to wake up from a strange state of walking hypno-sis, in which nothing made much sense but somehow we all seemed to walk aimlessly. A few glimpses of desire and a typical colombian drive to succeed took me straight into green running fields. i discov-ered the joy of play and freed myself from many “obligations”. i have become increasingly rebellious against anything that implies the sub-mission of fun, joy and the expression of self to the general concept of “duty”, “sacrifice”, “efficiency” and “productivity” within others.so maybe these are my contributions to the HUb.i think i am back in Colombia to finally deal with a deep sense of an-

ger and disappointment with various systems: the educational, politi-cal, economic and social. i am rooting myself in the knowledge that in order to move forward i need to trust others and honor myself in the process. i have no idea how is that going to look like or how long is that going to take. However, as i touched Colombian land this time, i heard little voices saying: “What has taken you so looooong? We have been waiting for you…!”

about mei have been living abroad for 9 years. i never left with the intention

of not comming back, i LoVe Colombia. These 9 years have been of preparation, development and exploration to give meaning to what i do and connect it with what i feel, my dreams and hopes for the world and what motivates me. My background is in graphic design, mul-timedia, software engineering, pedagogics and kaospilot (creative project design and social innovation). i’m the mother of a wonderful 1 year old girl. This has been, without a

doubt, the biggest learning experience of my life.
