• Particularly marked by the context of the Sorbone-Bologna-Prague-Berlin process, through which politics aims to create an integrated higher education area in Europe
• Addresses several of the Bologna action lines
• The adoption of a system of easily readable and comparable degrees
• The adoption of a system based on two cycles and the establishment of a system of credits
• The project aims at identifying points of reference for generic and subject-specific competences of 1st and 2nd cycle graduates in a series of 7 subject areas (Business Administration, Education Sciences, Geology, History, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry)

• A TN-Tuning Working Group (TN-TWG) would be created within each TN
• The THENEXOM-TWG would set out a plan for the implementation of the 4 Tuning lines approach, with an emphasis in line 2 (definition of sub-specific competences for 1st and 2nd graduates)
• A Tuning Counsellor would guide the TN-TWG in order to provide advice on how to implement the Tuning methodology
