7http://www.thenexom.net

Why these goals:Why these goals:

POM academics need to pay more attention on:

• What is happening in the “companies” in which

their skills and efforts are employed.

• In the “products” they produce.

• In their “productive processes”

• In the quality control of their products.

Why these goals:Why these goals:

What are the characteristic of the basic components incorporated in our “products and processes”?. In other words:

• How many courses?

• How many teaching hours does the student receive?

• What is the content for the various teaching programs?

• Are there deficiencies which could be eliminated?

Why these goals:Why these goals:

What is the “capacity” for our “production” of such

graduates?. That is,

• What are the basic characteristics of the

teaching staffs?

• How many POM instructors are there?

• What level and type of training do they have?

• What is their experience and background?

• What can be done to improve this important

factor?

Why these goals :Why these goals :

How do we plan and develop our “productive

processes”, and in what contexts?. In other words:

• What are the teaching methods employed?

• What are the resources available?

• How much overcrowding is there in our

classes?

• What can be done to improve the current

situation?

Why these goals:Why these goals:

By what means do we monitor the quality of our

“products and processes”?. In other words:

• What assessment methods are employed?

• How are they combined?

• Are these methods the most adequate ones?

• Can they be improved?

Why these goals :Why these goals :

• How many POM researches are there? Who are they? Where do they work?...

• What are the POM research contents?

• What research methodologies are being used?

• What are the sectors under study?

• What are the interactions between POM teaching and research?

• How to improve these interactions?

9. Tuning Project9. Tuning Project

• Particularly marked by the context of the Sorbone-Bologna-Prague-Berlin process, through which politics aims to create an integrated higher education area in Europe

• Addresses several of the Bologna action lines

• The adoption of a system of easily readable and comparable degrees

• The adoption of a system based on two cycles and the establishment of a system of credits

9. Tuning Project9. Tuning Project

• A TN-Tuning Working Group (TN-TWG) would be created within each TN

• The THENEXOM-TWG would set out a plan for the implementation of the 4 Tuning lines approach, with an emphasis in line 2 (definition of sub-specific competences for 1st and 2nd graduates)

• A Tuning Counsellor would guide the TN-TWG in order to provide advice on how to implement the Tuning methodology
