Dieses Produkt ist ein tragbarer digitaler Audio-Player, mit dem Sie Ihre MP3- und WMA-Musiktitel wiedergeben (Multi-Codec-Player) und Sprache aufzeichnen oder beliebige Dateien abspeichern können. Das beleuchtete LCD informiert Sie per ID3-Tag über die aktuelle digitale Musikdatei.

3.2 LCD-Anzeige und -Symbole Überblick LCD-Anzeige Die LCD-Anzeige zeigt diverse Informationen über den aktuellen Musiktitel, die Laufzeit und die Systemeinstellungen. Nachfolgend werden die Symbole erklärt.

3.3 Batteriestatus Bitte legen Sie die mitgeleiferte Batterie in das Batteriefach ein. Die Batterie-laufzeit beträgt ca. 10 h. Je nach Betriebsbedingungen des MP3-Players und der aufgespielten Firmware kann die Laufzeit jedoch etwas variieren.

Der Batteriestatus wird mit fünf verschiedenen Symbolen angezeigt:

Bitte wechseln Sie die Batterie, wenn ein leeres Batteriesymbol zu sehen ist. Nutzen Sie Akkus mit wenigstens 800 mAh oder Alkaline-Batterien.

3.4 Treiberinstallation

Unter Windows 98SE müssen Sie vor dem Verbinden des MP3-Players mit dem PC zuerst den entsprechenden Treiber von der CD-ROM installieren. Unter Windows ME, 2000 und XP ist dies nicht erforderlich.

• Verbinden Sie den MP3-Player mit Hilfe des beigefügten USB-Kabels mit

Ihrem PC. • Die Nachricht „USB RDY“ wird im LCD-Display angezeigt

und die Treiberinstallation wird gestartet. Unter Windows ME, 2000 und XP erkennt der PC ein neues Hardware-Gerät (Massenspeichergerät) und installiert die ent-sprechenden Treiber automatisch.

• Wenn bei der Installation Fehler auftreten, entfernen Sie das USB-Kabel, starten das Betriebssystem neu und verbinden das USB-Kabel erneut mit dem PC.

3.5 Dateiübertragung MP3-Player - PC • Verbinden Sie den MP3-Player mit Hilfe des beigefügten USB-Kabels mit

Ihrem PC. • Öffnen Sie den Windows-Explorer oder doppelklicken Sie auf den

Arbeitsplatz. • Öffnen Sie Ihren Musik-Ordner, wählen Sie die zu übertragenden Ordner

oder Dateien aus und ziehen Sie diese auf das Wechseldatenträger-Symbol des MP3-Players (Download).

• Während der Dateiübertragung wird die Nachricht „RUNNING“ im LCD-Display angezeigt.

• Nach dem Übertragungsende überprüfen Sie mit einem Klick auf das MP3-Player-Symbol, ob die Dateien vollständig kopiert wurden.

• Analog kopieren Sie auch Dateien vom MP3-Player zum PC (Upload).

Entfernen Sie während der Dateiübertragung nicht das USB-Kabel vom MP3-Player.

3.6 Abmelden des MP3-Players vom PC • Melden Sie den MP3-Player mit der Option „Hardware sicher entfernen“

wieder korrekt vom Betriebssystem ab. • Klicken Sie in der Taskleiste rechts unten auf das Symbol und wählen

Sie im nachfolgenden Dialog-Fenster den Eintrag „USB-Massenspeicher-gerät – Laufwerk (X:) entfernen“.

• Danach erscheint die Meldung, dass die Hardware nun entfernt werden kann.

Unter Windows 98SE erscheint kein Symbol in der Taskleiste. Ziehen Sie hier nach dem Beenden der Dateiübertragung einfach das USB-Kabel ab.

4 Bedienung Die Play-Taste (Ein/Aus, Wiedergabe/Pause) erfüllt verschiedene Funktionen:

Einschalten Lang drücken (1 … 3 s) Ausschalten

Wiedergabe von Musiktiteln und Sprachdateien, Start der Sprachaufnahme Pause

Kurz drücken im eingeschalteten Zustand (0,5 s)

Bestätigen einer Menüauswahl 4.1 Ein- und Ausschalten Einschalten • Überprüfen Sie, ob die Tastensperre deaktiviert ist. Schieben Sie

gegebenenfalls den Schalter in die Entsperren-Position. • Halten Sie die Play-Taste für eine Sekunde gedrückt, bis

sich die LCD-Anzeige einschaltet und eine Begrüßung angezeigt wird. Der MP3-Player befindet sich nun im Standby-Modus. Das LCD zeigt den aktuellen Titel und die Anzahl verfügbarer Musikstücke an. Zur Dauer der blauen Hintergrundbeleuch-tung siehe Kap. 4.6 Systemeinstellungen. Falls sich das Gerät nicht einschaltet, prüfen Sie bitte die Batterie auf Füllung und Polarität.

Ausschalten Halten Sie die Play-Taste für ca. drei Sekunden gedrückt, bis die Nachricht „Good Bye“ angezeigt wird und die LCD-Anzeige erlischt.

4.2 Musik-Modus Wiedergabe, Vorwärts/Rückwärts, Pause, Stop • Drücken Sie die Play-Taste, um den

angezeigten Musiktitel abzuspielen. Die Informationen zur Musikdatei (ID3-Tag) werden nun auf der LCD-Anzeige dar-gestellt.

• Kippen und halten Sie während der Wiedergabe die Menü-Taste in die Vorwärts- bzw. Rückwärts-Richtung für einen schnellen Vor- oder Rücklauf innerhalb des Musiktitels. Wenn Sie die Menü-Taste kurz nach

drücken, springt die Wiedergabe zum vorherigen bzw. nächsten Musiktitel.

• Drücken Sie während der Wiedergabe kurz auf die Wiedergabe-Taste, um die Wiedergabe anzuhalten (Pause).

• Drücken Sie die Stop-Taste, um die Wiedergabe zu beenden (Standby).

Lautstärke Verringern oder erhöhen Sie die Lautstärke, indem Sie auf die jeweilige Taste für die Lautstärkereglung (+, −) drücken bzw. diese gedrückt halten. Die Lautstärke lässt sich in 33 Stufen einstellen (0…32).

Tastensperre Sie können alle Tasten Ihres MP3-Players sperren, um ein versehentliches Bedienen zu vermeiden. Schieben Sie dazu einfach den Schalter der Tastensperre in Pfeilrich-tung (Hold). Beim Bedienen erscheint nun die Nachricht „Key Lock!“ im LCD-Display. Entsperren Sie, indem Sie den Schalter wieder zurückschieben.

Ordnerfunktion - Dateien suchen Sie können auf Ihrem MP3-Player verschiedene Ordner anlegen, um Ihre Musikdateien oder andere Dateien zu verwalten. Verbinden Sie Ihren Player mit dem PC, erzeugen Sie die gewünschten Ordner im Player-Speicher und kopieren Sie Dateien in die Ordner.

Greifen Sie wie folgt mit Ihrem Player auf die Ordnerinhalte zu:

• Drücken Sie während der Musik-Pause für ca. drei Sekunden auf die Menü-Taste. Mit können Sie durch die Ordnerstruktur navigieren und die ge-wünschte Datei aussuchen.

• Um einen Ordner zu öffnen, drücken Sie die Play-Taste.

• Drücken Sie erneut die Play-Taste, um die gewünschte Musik-Datei auszuwählen und wiederzugeben.

• Wenn Sie die Ordnerstruktur verlassen und zur Musik-Wiedergabe zurückkehren wollen, drücken Sie kurz auf die Menü-Taste.

Equalizer-Einstellungen • Drücken Sie während der Musik-Wieder-

gabe kurz auf die Menü-Taste und wählen Sie mit den Equalizer-Modus (EQ Mode) aus.

• Drücken Sie kurz die Play-Taste, um den EQ-Modus zu aktivieren. • Mit Hilfe können Sie den gewünschten Klang (Normal, Classic, Live,

Pop, Rock und DBB) aussuchen. • Drücken Sie zur Bestätigung nochmals die Play-Taste.

Der Klang Normal entspricht dem Original-Klangbild. Wenn Sie keine Änderung vornehmen wollen, verlassen Sie die erste Menü-Ebene durch Drücken der Menü-Taste.

Wiederholungsfunktionen • Drücken Sie während der Musik-Wieder-

gabe kurz auf die Menü-Taste und wählen Sie mit die Wiederholungsfunktion (Repeat) aus.

• Drücken Sie kurz die Play-Taste, um den Repeat-Modus zu aktivieren. • Mit Hilfe können Sie die gewünschte Funktion (Normal, Repeat one,

Repeat all, Repeat random) aussuchen. • Drücken Sie zur Bestätigung nochmals die Play-Taste.

Repeat One: Spielt die aktuelle Datei wiederholt. Repeat All: Spielt wiederholt alle Dateien in Original-Reihenfolge. Random: Spielt die Dateien des aktuellen Verzeichnisses in zufälliger Reihenfolge.

Hauptmenü Wenn Sie während der Musik-Pause kurz die Menü-Taste drücken, erscheint das Hauptmenü.

Hier können Sie die folgenden Optionen wählen:

Musik Player ⇒ Musikwiedergabe Voice Player ⇒ Sprachwiedergabe Voice Record ⇒ Sprachaufnahme File Delete ⇒ Datei löschen Setting ⇒ Systemeinstellungen für den MP3-Player

Mit Hilfe können Sie die die gewünschte Option auswählen und mit der Play-Taste bestätigen. Wenn keine Taste gedrückt wird, kehrt der Player nach einigen Sekunden zurück zum normalen Wiedergabe-Menü.

4.3 Sprachaufnahme-Modus Ihr MP3-Player lässt sich auch als digitales Diktiergerät verwenden. So können Sie z. B. unterwegs wichtige Ideen oder Gedanken aufzeichnen, um sie nicht zu vergessen. Wählen Sie diese Funktion wie folgt im Hauptmenü aus.

• Drücken Sie während der Musik-Pause kurz auf die Menü-Taste und wählen Sie mit den Sprachaufnahme-Modus (Voice Record) aus.

• Drücken Sie kurz die Play-Taste, um die Sprachaufnahme zu starten.

• Drücken Sie nochmals die Play-Taste, um die Sprachaufnahme zu beenden. Sie können sich nun im Sprachwieder-gabe-Modus die aufgenommene Datei gleich anhören.

Der Ton wird im WAV-Format aufgezeichnet (32 kbps). Während der Aufnahme sind alle Tasten außer der Play-Taste und dem Tastensperren-Schalter ohne Funktion.

4.4 Sprachwiedergabe-Modus • Drücken Sie während der Musik-Pause

kurz auf die Menü-Taste und wählen Sie mit den Sprachwiedergabe-Modus (Voice Player) aus.

• Drücken Sie kurz die Play-Taste, um die Sprachwiedergabe zu aktivieren.

• Mit Hilfe können Sie die gewünschte Datei aussuchen.

• Drücken Sie nochmals die Play -Taste, um die ausgewählte Datei wiederzugeben.

Wenn Sie wieder in den Musik-Modus zurückkehren wollen, drücken Sie kurz auf die Menü-Taste und wählen Sie mit den Modus „Music player“ aus. Bestätigen Sie dann die Auswahl mit der Play-Taste.

4.5 Dateien löschen Dateien im Speicher Ihres MP3-Players können mit der Option „File delete“ im Hauptmenü gelöscht werden.

• Drücken Sie während der Musik-Pause kurz auf die Menü-Taste und wählen Sie mit die Funktion „File delete“ (Datei löschen) aus.

• Drücken Sie kurz die Play-Taste. Die obere Textzeile des LCD’s zeigt die Nummer des ausgewählten Stücks (Tracks) an und die untere Textzeile den Namen der Musik- oder Sprachdatei.

• Mit Hilfe können Sie die zu löschende Datei auswählen. • Drücken Sie die Play-Taste. Die Nachricht „Delete?“ wird im Display

angezeigt und muss nun erneut mit der Play-Taste bestätigt werden.

• Wenn Sie die ausgewählte Datei doch nicht löschen möchten, brechen Sie mit der Menü-Taste den Dialog ab. Verlassen Sie danach wieder die Option „File delete“ über das Haupt-Menü.

Dateien und Ordner können Sie auch über den Dateimanager Ihres PCs bei bestehender USB-Verbindung Player - PC löschen.

4.6 Systemeinstellungen (Setting) Im Modus Setting können Sie wichtige Systemeinstellungen für Ihren MP3-Player verändern. Er umfasst insgesamt 8 Optionen.

Allgemeine Vorgehensweise: • Drücken Sie während der Musik-Pause kurz auf die Menü-Taste und

wählen Sie im Hauptmenü mit und der Play-Taste die Funktion Setting aus.

• Mit Hilfe und der Play-Taste können Sie die gewünschte Option (Language, Lyric Display, LCD Contrast, Back Light, Format Memory, Memory Info und S/W Version) aussuchen.

• Wählen Sie mit den konkreten Wert aus und drücken Sie zur Bestätigung nochmals die Play -Taste.

Sprache (Language) Stellen Sie mit diesem Menüpunkt die gewünschte Sprache ein: English, Chinese GB, Chinese BIG5, Korean, Japanese, German, French, Italian, Spanish.

Liedtextbegleitung (Lyric Display) Ihr MP3-Player unterstützt während der Musik-Wiedergabe von mp3-Dateien die synchrone Anzeige des Liedtextes (Lyric Display). Installieren Sie die mitgelieferte Lyric-Software (LPSetup.exe) und lesen Sie in der Online-Hilfe nach, wie Sie MP3-Dateien mit Lyric-Texten erstellen. Schalten Sie in Ihrem MP3-Player die Lyric-Funktion ein oder aus (Lyric On / Lyric Off).

LCD Kontrast (LCD Contrast) Stellen Sie hier den gewünschten Display-Kontrast ein: Level Low, Level 1, Level 2, Level 3, Level 4, Level High.

Automatisches Abschalten des Displays (Back Light) Stellen Sie hier ein, wie lange das Display nach dem letzten Tastendruck eingeschaltet bleiben soll: Aus, 3 s, 6 s, 9 s, 12 s und 15 s.

Speicher formatieren (Format Memory) Formatieren Sie mit dieser Funktion (Auswahl „Yes“) den internen Flash-Speicher des MP3-Players. Beachten Sie, dass dabei alle Dateien und Ordner unumkehrbar gelöscht werden. Wäh-rend des Formatierens darf sich der Player nicht ausschalten. Achten Sie auf volle Batterien und entnehmen Sie sie nicht.

Speicherinformation (Memory Info) Hier können Sie sich über den aktuellen freien Speicherplatz Ihres MP3-Players informieren.

Firmware Version (S/W Version) Informieren Sie sich hier bei evtl. anstehenden Firmware-Updates über die derzeit installierte Firmware auf Ihrem MP3-Player.

6 Störungsbehebung

Problem Ursache und Abhilfe

Die Software funktioniert nicht richtig.

Fehler bei der Installation: Software-Installation wiederholen und Systemvoraussetzungen überprüfen

Der MP3-Player funktioniert nicht oder es wird nichts auf dem LCD angezeigt.

Leere Batterie oder starker elektromag-netischer Impuls: Batteriekapazität über-prüfen, neue Batterie mit mindestens 800 mAh einlegen und auf richtige Polarität achten bzw. Batterie kurz entnehmen und wieder einsetzen

Die Tasten am Player funktionieren nicht.

Tastensperre aktiviert: Überprüfen, ob der Schalter für die Tastensperre ausge-schaltet ist.

Die im Speicher des MP3- Players vorhandenen Audio-Dateien werden nicht abgespielt.

Dateien sind beschädigt oder entspre-chen nicht den Normen: Sicherstellen, dass die Dateien einem der folgenden Formate entsprechen: MPEG-1 Layer 3, MPEG-2 Layer 3 und MPEG-2.5 Layer 3, WMA Version 4.1/7.0/8.0 (Bitrate > 64 kbps)

MP3-Dateien können nicht vom PC heruntergeladen werden.

Batterien überprüfen oder ersetzen, Tastensperre und Kabel/Stecker-verbindung zum PC überprüfen

Es kommt keine USB-Verbindung zum PC zustande.

Hard- oder Softwareprobleme: Kabel/-Steckerverbindung zum PC überprüfen, Windows-Systemkonfiguration und USB-Treiber überprüfen. Eine Nichterkennung des USB-Geräts liegt oft an fehlerhaften oder nicht aktuellen Treibern für den USB-Port (Windows-CD einlegen).

7 Sicherheitshinweise Obwohl es sich um ein sicheres Produkt handelt, sollten Sie folgende Hin-weise und Warnungen beachten.

• Setzen Sie das Gerät niemals Regen, Nässe oder Feuchtigkeit

aus. Fehlfunktionen und Beschädigungen können die Folge sein. • Drücken Sie niemals zwei Tasten gleichzeitig und behandeln Sie

das LCD-Display vorsichtig. • Setzen Sie das Gerät nicht direkter Sonneneinstrahlung oder

einer staubigen Umgebung aus. • Das Gerät nicht schütteln oder harten Stößen aussetzen. Stellen

Sie keine schweren Gegenstände auf das Gerät. • Tragen Sie den MP3-Player nicht zusammen mit anderen metalli-

schen Gegenständen (Münzen oder Schlüssel). • Reinigen Sie das Gerät nur mit einem weichen, trockenen Tuch. • Verwenden Sie zum Reinigen des Geräts keine flüchtigen Sub-

stanzen wie z. B. Lösungsmittel, um Beschädigungen der Ober-fläche zu vermeiden.

• Öffnen Sie keinesfalls das Gehäuse des Geräts und versuchen Sie nicht, das Gerät zu reparieren oder zu modifizieren.

• Soll der MP3-Player längere Zeit nicht benutzt werden, nehmen Sie die Batterie heraus. Verbrauchte Batterien sollten ordnungs-gemäß entsorgt werden, um die Umwelt zu schützen.

• Beugen Sie Hörschäden vor und halten Sie die Lautstärke in einem akzeptablen Bereich. Verzichten Sie aus Sicherheits-gründen bei der aktiven Teilnahme am Straßenverkehr auf das Tragen von Kopfhörern.

Entsorgungshinweis Bitte werfen Sie den eventuell defekten MP3-Player nicht in den normalen Hausmüll (interne Batterie). Bringen Sie das defekte Gerät zu Ihrem Fachhändler oder zu einer entsprechenden Sammelstelle. Damit ermöglichen Sie eine umweltgerechte Entsorgung.

2 Introduction Thank you for choosing our product. Please read this manual carefully before use to make best use of all functions of the product and to guarantee that it has a long service life. Please store the manual in a safe place for later reference.

This product is a portable digital audio player which allows you to play your MP3 and WMA tracks (multi-codec player) and make voice recordings or save files of any kind. The backlit LCD displays information on the current digital music file via the ID3 tag.

Caution Please read the general safety instructions in chapter 7 before using the MP3 player. Pay particular attention to the instructions on safely concluding the digital transfer between the MP3 player and computer in chap. 3.6.

3.2 LCD and symbols Overview of the LCD The LCD shows a variety of information on the current track, the running time and the system settings. The symbols are explained below.

3.3 Battery status Insert the provided battery into the battery compartment. The service life of the battery is approximately 10 hours. The service life of the battery may vary depending on the various operating conditions of the MP3 player and installed firmware.

The battery status is displayed by five different symbols:

full 75% 50% 25% empty

Please replace the battery if an empty battery symbol is displayed. Use rechargeable batteries with at least 800mAh or alkaline batteries.

3.4 Installing the driver

When using Windows 98SE, you must first install the correspond-ding driver found on the CD-ROM before connecting the MP3 player to your computer. This is not required when using Windows ME, 2000 and XP.

• Connect the MP3 player to your PC using the USB cable. • USB RDY appears in the LCD display and the driver

installation starts. When using Windows ME, 2000 and XP, the PC recognizes a new hardware device (mass storage device) and automatically installs the corresponding driver.

• If an error occurs during installation, remove the USB cable, restart the operating system and reconnect the USB cable to the PC.

3.5 Transferring files MP3 player - PC • Connect the MP3 player to your PC using the supplied USB cable. • Open the Windows Explorer or double-click My Computer. • Open your music folder, select the folder or files to be

transferred and drag them to the removable storage medium symbol of the MP3 player (download).

• “RUNNING” appears on the display. • Once the transmission is complete, click the MP3 player symbol and

check whether the files were completely copied. • Following the same procedure, you can also copy files from the MP3 player

to the PC (upload).

Never disconnect the USB cable from your MP3 player during a data transfer.

3.6 Disable the MP3 player from the PC • Disable the digital MP3 player from the operating system correctly using

the “Remove Hardware Safely” option . • Click the task bar on the right-hand side below the symbol and select

the “Remove USB Mass Storage Device – Drive (X:)” in the following dialog window.

• Then the message now appears that the hardware can be removed.

When using Windows 98SE, does not appear in the task bar. Once the data has been completely transferred, simply remove the USB cable.

4 Operation The Play button (on/off, playback/pause) is used for different functions:

Switches the MP3 player on Hold down for (1 … 3 seconds) Switches the MP3 player off:

Plays tracks and voice files, starts voice recording Pause

Briefly press when the MP3 player is switched on (0.5 seconds) Confirms a menu selection

4.1 Switching the MP3 player on and off Switching the MP3 player on • Ensure that the hold setting is deactivated. If necessary, push the hold

switch into the off position. • Hold the Play button down for approx. one second

until the Display illuminates and a greeting is displayed. The MP3 player is now in standby mode. The LCD shows the current track and the number of tracks available. See chapter 4.6 System settings for information on the duration of the blue back-lighting. If the MP3 player is not switched on, check the polarity of the battery and ensure that it is charged.

Switching the MP3 player off Press and hold the Play button for approximately three seconds until “Good Bye” appears and the Display illumination deactivates.

4.2 Music mode Playback, forwards/back, pause, stop • Press the Play button to play the track

showed. The track information (ID3 tag) is scrolled on the Display.

• Tilt and hold the menu button forwards or back during playback to skip forwards or back within the track. If you tilt the menu button briefly forwards or back , playback skips to the next or the previous track.

• Press the playback button briefly to pause playback. • Press the stop button to stop playback (standby).

Setting the volume Press or hold the respective volume control button (+, -) to raise or lower the volume. The volume has 33 settings (0…32).

Hold switch You can block all buttons of your MP3 player to prevent accidental operation. To do so, simply move the key lock switch in the direction as shown by the arrow. During operation, Key Lock! is shown in the LCD display. Unlock the keys by moving the switch back.

Folder function - searching for files You can create various folders on your MP3 player to manage your music files or other files. Connect your player to the PC, create the desired folder in the player memory and copy files into the folder.

Using your player, access the folder contents as follows:

• While in pause or standby mode, press the menu button for approximately 3 seconds. Use to navigate through the folder structure and search for the desired file.

• Press the playback button (PLAY) to open the folder.

• Press PLAY twice to select and play the desired music file.

• Briefly press the menu button to exit the folder structure and return to music playback mode.

Equalizer settings

• While in music playback, briefly press the menu button and use to select the equalizer mode (EQ).

• Briefly press PLAY to activate the EQ mode.

• Use to select the desired sound (normal, classic, live, pop, rock and DBB).

• Confirm using the playback button (PLAY) again.

The sound corresponds to the original sound imaging. If you do not wish to make any changes, exit the first menu level by pressing the menu button.

Repeat mode

• While in music playback, pause or standby mode, briefly press the menu button and use to select the Repeat mode (Repeat).

• Briefly press PLAY to activate the Repeat mode.

• Use to select the desired mode (Normal, Repeat one, Repeat all, Repeat random).

• Confirm using the playback button (PLAY) again.

Repeat One: Plays back the current file repeatedly. Repeat All: Repeatedly plays back all files in the original order. Random: Plays back the files of the current folder in a random order.

Main menu If you briefly press the menu button while the music is paused, the main menu appears.

You can then select the following options:

Music player ⇒ music playback Voice player ⇒ voice playback Voice record ⇒ voice recording File delete ⇒ delete file Setting ⇒ system settings for the MP3 player

Use to select the desired option and confirm using the Play button. If no button is pressed, the player returns to the normal playback menu after a few seconds.

4.3 Voice recording mode Your MP3 player can also be used as a digital dictaphone. This allows you to record important ideas or thoughts when away from home, so you don’t forget them. Select this function in the main menu as follows.

• While in pause or standby mode, briefly press the menu button and use to select the Voice recording mode.

• Briefly press PLAY to start voice recording.

• Press PLAY again to stop voice recording. You can now listen to the recorded file in voice playback mode.

The sound is recorded as a WAV file (32kbps). During a recording, all buttons except the Play button and the hold button are deactivated.

4.4 Voice playback mode • While in pause or standby mode, briefly

press the menu button and use to select the voice playback mode.

• Briefly press PLAY to activate the voice playback.

• Use to select the required file. • Press PLAY again to play back the

selected file.

If you would like to return to music mode, briefly press the menu button and use to select Music player mode. Then confirm your selection by pressing the Play button.

4.5 Deleting files Use the File Delete option in the main menu to delete files in your MP3 player memory.

• While in pause or standby mode, briefly press the menu button and use to select the function „File delete“.

• Briefly press PLAY. The upper text line of the LCD displays the number of the selected track and the lower text line displays the name of the music or voice file.

• Use to select the file to be deleted. • Press PLAY. Delete? appears in the

display and must be confirmed by pressing PLAY again.

• If you do not wish to delete the selected file, cancel the dialog using the menu button. Afterwards, use the main menu to exit the File Delete option.

You can also delete files or folders using your computer’s file manager when the MP3 player is connected to the PC via the USB connection.

4.6 System settings (setting) The mode setting allows you to change important system settings for your MP3 player. It contains a total of 8 options

Recurring operating steps: • While in pause or standby mode, briefly press the menu button and use

and PLAY to select the mode setting. • Use and PLAY to select the desired option (Language, Lyric

Display, LCD Contrast, Back Light, Format Memory, Memory Info and S/W Version).

• Use to select the specific value and press the Play button again to confirm the selection.

Language Use this option to select the required language: English, Chinese GB, Chinese BIG5, Korean, Japanese, German, French, Italian, Spanish.

Lyric Display When playing MP3 files, your MP3 player supports the synchronous lyric display. Install the provided lyric software (LPSetup.exe) and refer to the online help on how to create MP3 files with lyrics. Switch the lyric function on or off in your MP3 player (Lyric On/Lyric Off).

LCD Contrast Allows you to set the required display contrast: Level Low, Level 1, Level 2, Level 3, Level 4, Level High.

Automatic shutdown of the display (Back Light) This allows you to set whether the backlight is to remain on after a button is pressed and how long it stays on: Off, 3s, 6s, 9s, 12s and 15s.

Formatting the memory Use this function (select Yes) to format the internal flash memory of the MP3 player. Keep in mind that in doing so all files and folders are permanently deleted. The player may not be switched off when formatting. Make sure the batteries are fully charged and do not remove them.

Memory Info Shows the current amount of free memory space on your MP3 player.

Firmware Version (S/W Version) Check the firmware version installed on your MP3 player when firmware updates are made available.

6 Troubleshooting

Symptoms Cause and solution

The software does not work properly.

Error occurred during installation: Reinstall the software and check the system requirements

The MP3 player does not work or there is nothing shown on the LCD.

Batteries are dead or there is a strong electromagnetic pulse: Check battery capacity, insert new battery with at least 800mAh and make sure the polarity is correct or briefly remove the battery and then reinsert it

The buttons on the player do not work.

Hold setting is activated: Ensure that the hold switch is deactivated

The audio files available in the MP3 player memory are not played back.

Files are damaged or do not correspond to the standards: Make sure that the files correspond to one of the formats below: MPEG-1 Layer 3, MPEG-2 Layer 3 and MPEG-2.5 Layer 3, WMA version 4.1/7.0/8.0 (Bit rate > 64kps)

MP3 files cannot be downloaded from the PC.

Check or replace batteries, check hold function and cable/plug connection to the PC

No USB connection is established to the PC.

Hardware or software problems: Check cable/plug connection to the PC, Windows system configuration and USB driver. Most failures to recognize the USB device are due to defective or obsolete drivers for the USB port (insert Windows CD).

No sound, although an audio file is played back.

Volume is too low: Increase the volume

7 Safety instructions Although this product is safe, please observe the following information and warnings.

• Never expose the device to rain, moisture or humidity.

Malfunctions, damage and electric shocks can occur as a result.

• Never press two buttons simultaneously and handle the LCD display carefully.

• Do not expose the device to direct sunlight or a dusty environment.

• Do not shake the device or subject it to hard knocks. Do not place any heavy objects on top of the device.

• Do not carry the MP3 player with other metal objects (coins or keys) in your pocket.

• Clean the device only using a soft, dry cloth. • When cleaning the device, do not use any volatile substances,

such as solvents, to avoid damaging the surface. • Do not open the casing of the device under any circumstances,

and do not attempt to repair or modify the device. • If the MP3 player is not to be used for a longer period of time,

remove the battery. Used batteries should be disposed of properly to protect the environment.

• Prevent hearing damage and keep the volume in an acceptable range. For safety reasons, do not wear headphones while actively participating in traffic.
