MusicWhether you're 20 or 70, you're never too oldto start learning how to sing, play aninstrument or write a song – lots of peoplehave said they wished they had done itsooner!

Many of our classes are for completebeginners, requiring no previous musicalexperience. Our tutors know about thechallenges in getting started in music and willencourage you to develop your interest.

As well as many Guitar courses for beginners,we are also offering beginners' courses in Altoor Tenor Saxophone, Keyboard, Harp, CelticViolin, and Mandolin or Bodhran.

Ask us if you need advice about instruments. We have a number of harps which we canprovide for our harp class. For some other courses, often agood way to start is to hire an instrument from a music firm.

In September we will be running our African Drumming coursein the evening – our 'twilight' course last year was really popular! We have a complete set of djembes – the traditional WestAfrican drums. If you're interested, why not stay on for anotherhour and learn African Dance – see page 6.

There are several follow-on programmes. In Guitar, we have:Beginners Plus classes if you have been to one of ourbeginners' courses or have some basic knowledge; andimprovers' classes if you've been playing for about two years.

There are also follow-on courses inKeyboard. Our Singing Group is forpeople with or without singingexperience. And lastly, we have theCobwebs Orchestra course – allinstruments, all levels, for anyonewanting to ‘blow the cobwebs’ off theirinstruments, try out lots of differentstyles of music and gain confidenceplaying with others.
