PROGRAM PRESENTATIONNON -GRAPHICAL VERSION

Well , before proceeding towards brief explanation of this software let me tell you what this software is composed of.

This software is based on a non graphical interface. Few formatting keywords are being frequently used within the code, like

for spacing and content alignment etc. File handling is used to carry out various tasks easily and efficiently. Help section is the main attraction of this software.

This presentation will explain you the working of software step by step. Graphical as well textual explanation in parallel is provided for a better

understanding. Conclusion section details the contents deeply.

When the program is executed it shows the welcome screen.

Showing message “welcome to hsbc banking” with some formatting.

Here printf of c is used rather than cout. Pressing enter will move you to the next

screen. Other keys might also work as an escaping

command.

Next screen is a menu screen. This menu screen will provide u some menus

to operate upon. Asking for a choice to enter among the

provided options. Provided options are (1) account statement,

this gives detail about a particular account whose account number is entered on demand. (2) list of accounts, shows all the accounts opened in this bank. (3)transactions, include withdraw and deposit operations before which account number is asked for authentication. (4)open new account, this option is used to open new account software demands for few details for creation of account. (5)modify account, include edit/modify, for editing initial details of account holder. Close/delete, for deleting an existing account and quit, for aborting whole modification and to return to the main menu screen.

Previously I discussed the perimeter of the software, now ill explain you each and every option of program thoroughly.

We’ll create two accounts to understand the working of this program where one we use to understand deleting operation and other one to see how this software modifies the accounts requested.

But before that lets see which menus we got to understand.

(1) Account statement

(2) List of accounts

(3) Transactions

(4) Open account

(5) Modify account

(6) Hsbc help

Now got enough to initialize our tutorial……….

This option is used for querying purpose of requested account

• Pressing one , brings into this option.• Now the software will ask for an account

no. whose details are to be displayed.

We have already created an account to explain you its working it’s account no. is 1.

For explanation of account creation we’ll later create a new account .and then ,we’ll create those two account which we explained previously i.e. for understanding modification an deletion separately.

Pressing 0 within account statement will bring back to the main menu .

This option will show all the account opened in this bank.

• Till now it will show you only one account that is “account no. 1”

• If there were 100 accounts then it will show all the 100 accounts.

• For every account it shows account number and name of the account holder.

• Pressing any key will continue by coming out to the main menu.

This option will let the customer perform two basic transaction operations.

• Before initializing any transaction it prompts for the account no for which the transaction is to b carried out . for now we are entering 1 because we have created only one account with account no 1.

• After entering an existing account no. it’ll then prompt the type of transaction to be carried out . that is either deposit or withdraw.

• User can exit by entering 0 as an account no.• After entering the d/w program will then prompt ,

whether the transaction is to be done by cash/ cheque choose any one.

• It will ask for the amount then.• After entering the amount that amount will b

added or subtracted from previous amount in account.

• Then it prompts to save , choosing y will make this change permanent.

This option is used to create a new account.• From main menu press four to enter n view the

form for opening the new account.• There you’ll be asked to enter the following

details:

(1) Name of the account holder

(2) Address of the account holder

(3) Verifying document within the opted documents.

(4) Then initial amount , which must not be less than 5000

(5) It’ll then prompt to save the account choosing y will make this account permanent.

NOTE- entering 0 for any detail will bring you back to the main menu without saving the account. it’ll auto resume creating next account which you can cancel by pressing 0.

Now it’s about modification………….This option provides choices for modification of the account

it provides the following options

(1) edit/modify an account

(2) Close/delete an account

(3) Quit from modification task

After entering into edit/modify from modify account , program will ask for an account no. whose account is to be modified . we have created two accounts with account nos. 1 and 2 so lets choose any one (doesn't matter here).

It’ll then show the details of the account and prompt whether we want to modify that (y/n).

It will then ask for new name and address . This then prompt to save the change ,

choosing y will make the change permanent.

NOTE – account number won’t be changed during whole process.

• This option will provide you a way to delete an existing account.

• Enter this menu by pressing 2 in modify account section.

• Then program will ask for the account number of the account which is to be deleted.

• We are entering 2 here because it is from the existing accounts (1 can also be entered).

• It will then show the final details of account and prompt to know the certainty .

• Pressing y will delete that and ask for continuing so press any key for getting back to the modify account option.

This option brings back to main menu screen by aborting all modification tasks.

Again key zero is assigned here for exiting or returning back to the main menu

Although we have provided a complete tutorial to make u understand this software deeply but in the absence of this documentation we’ve provided an inbuilt helping option which can be accessed by pressing 6 right in the main menu.

This option provides the hotkeys details assigned for accessing main menu options

We have tested this program for various possible improvements which can be made, for that we have executed this program several times and studied the code thoroughly too and as a conclusion we got some things which include some additional facilities and some missing things which are correctable or can be easily added these are as follows.

 

 

Security

Regarding security there is no restriction of accessing the bank’s database such as password for accessing the database for viewing accounts list and other such things.

 

No character restriction

During creation of account there’s no restriction of entering only characters for name and address, meant if a numerical or an alphanumerical string is entered then that won’t cause an error or malfunction.
