Transcript of Hrithick Roshan with Asgar - Eastern Eye
HOLLY-WOOD ac-tress Julia Rob-erts stumbled on a brilliant idea on the sets of her latest film Eat, Pray, Love that could make the lives of desi girls who struggle with saris a lot easier.
Roberts, who was in Lon-don for the premiere of the film, was so scared of tripping while wearing the traditional sari that she had a tailored one made. The one-piece
garment looked exactly like a sari and snap-ped shut with clip.
“It was a one-set piece that had snaps and closures on it, almost like a skirt and I could wrap it around me and snap it. It was beautiful,” said Rob-
erts.

Lookalikes for Pakistan cricket film roles
EASTERN EYE October 1, 2010
THE fact that the Pakistani cricket team have finally gone home shouldn’t stop someone from making a film about their controversial tour.
It would have high drama, corruption, whistle-blowers and unexpected twists.
On the flipside, there would be good guys who at-tempt to salvage some pride for the beleagured team and peripheral protagonists like Veena Malik, who dished the dirt on Mohammad Asif and England bats-man Jonathan Trott, who had an altercation with Wa-hab Riaz. I have the perfect lookalikes to play the key roles if anyone is looking for cast members.1. Salman Butt (above) and music producer Young Ar-chie (below) look like long-lost brothers.2. Actor Riz Ahmed could make an amazing cameo appearance as whistleblower Yasir Hameed.3. Mohammed Asif clone Gigi Buffon is right for the role because he was in a Juventus team that was ac-cused of match-fixing.4. Teenage bowling sensation Mohammad Aamer has enough of a magical quality to be, erm, played by Donkey from Shrek.5. Fergie from the Black Eye Peas brings the oomph factor by playing Lollywood lookalike Veena Malik.
6. Action hero Jason Statham can play Jonathan Trott, who clashed with Pakistani bowler
Wahab Riaz at Lord’s .
BOLLYWOOD heartthrob Hrithik
Roshan was all smiles as he chilled out with celebrity hairdresser and Eastern Eye col-
umnist Asgar in central Lon-don recently. A regular client of Asgar for a number of years, Hrithik got him to do his hair
when he secretly flew into the capital to get meas-
ured for his waxwork.
IT looks as if serial kisser Emraan Hash-mi is up to his old tricks in forthcoming film Crook: It’s Good To Be Bad. As this still from the Aust-ralia-set drama
shows, the actor is back locking lips with his co-stars again.
RISING bhangra star Jaz Dhami is one of the ambas-sadors taking part in a nationwide campaign designed to en-courage everyone who loves football to become a grassroots coach or referee. A qualified football coach,
Jaz will be featured in Foot-ball Needs adverts that will be screened across the UK soon. “I am focused on helping to encourage more Asians to get into football and this campaign will hopefully give pathways to take up the sport,” he said.
IS Guzaarish inspired by critically acclaimed Spanish film
The Sea Inside, which in turn was based on the true story of a
sailor who becomes a quadriplegic following an accident? In
the first trailer of the film, Hrithik Roshan is a magician who
is disabled and looked after by nurse Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
This isn’t be the first time that director Sanjay Leela Bhansali
has been inspired by another film because Hum Dil De
Chuke Sanam is similar to Woh Saat Din, Black was
inspired by The Miracle Worker and Dev-
das was a remake of a film which has been done
many times.
SOUL sensation
Jay Sean is hoping his latest col-
laboration with close pal
Lil Wayne will recreate the
magic of their mega-hit single
Down, which topped the US
Billboard charts. The song That Ain’t
Me is featured on Lil Wayne’s recently re-
leased album I Am Not A Human Being.
Talking of Jay, he has received a number of film
offers from Hollywood and Bollywood, but has in-
sisted he will only make the leap to
acting if the right role is offered
to him.

IF the producers of the fourth series of Bigg Boss get
their way, Pamela Anderson will be a housemate in the
Indian version of Celebrity Big Brother. They apparently
want Pamela because of the astounding fan follow-
ing she enjoys among men in In-
dia. If the deal does go ahead,
the blonde bombshell wouldn’t be the first for-
eigner to enter the house because Jade
Goody made a brief appearance in the second series and German model Clau-dia Ciesla was in season three.
Kiss and tell
BOLLYWOOD stars urged fellow Indians to maintain peace when the verdict of the Babri Masjid mosque finally comes out. Those at the press conference in Mumbai included (pictured, from left) Sophie Chowdhary, Ranbir Ka-poor, Priyanka Chopra and Ajay Devgan, as well as Sajid Khan. Al-though the celebrities want peace, many are also worried that any violence triggered by the judgement will impact box-office collections of their films.
ACTOR Jimi Mistry is hoping to
spin, twirl and shake
his way to the Strictly
Come Dancing title.
When I ran into Jimi at a high-pro-
file party in London, he told me he
was looking forward to busting some
moves in the new series of the show,
which starts on BBC 1 on Friday (1).
“It’s a really interesting challenge
and an opportunity to learn some-
thing new. Hopefully I won’t get vot-
ed off first,” said Jimi.
So tune into the show
and make sure you vote for
Jimi.
Keeping the peace despite verdict...
THE most
hilarious news
of the week is
that someone is
planning to stage the
first UK Asian televi-
sion awards next year.
I reckon they will have
the following categories
at the awards:
Most amateurish and
bad presenter
Most unrealistic Asian in
a soap Lowest budget TV show
Hottest newsreader
Best fake desi
Crappiest set
ACTRESS Madhuri Dixit is seriously con-sidering an offer to either participate in reality TV show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 5 as a mentor or a judge. Based in America, she also has a number of other TV offers.
A COMIC book based on interesting looking film Jhootha Hi Sahi is on the way. Lead star John Abraham came up with the idea while work-ing on the London set of the film.
DIRECTOR Santosh Jain has asked Hollywood superstar Drew Barrymore to play the lead role in his mega-budget Bollywood film Life-style. Although Jain insists Drew is consider-ing the offer, I doubt it will actually happen.
THE producers of TV show Kaun Banega Crorepati are trying to get former host Shah Rukh Khan to face questions from returning host Am-itabh Bachchan in the new series.
BROADCASTER Sony Entertainment Television has bought the remake rights of X-Factor. The Indian ver-sion of the musical reality TV show will hit screens next year.

Mentor Beats.
ANJAANA ANJAANI QUARTER PAGE
ACTOR Vivek Oberoi shared the stage with blind orchestra Black in London and Leicester last week. Pictured with Kaser Mehmood from KZ Entertain-ment and Jayesh Kotak from Jays Enter-tainment, the actor proved he really is one of the nicest stars in Bollywood.
