Induction training of management trainees for various companies that are not able toimpart proper induction training as number of trainees joining is very less and henceit is not economically viable for them to impart such training.

Number of companies can pool their trainees at a central location for proper induction training and it can become economically viable and result oriented

proposal for these companies.

OBJECTIVES ON-THE-JOB TRAINING :- To provide the opportunity to the trainee to implement the suggestions

arising out of his technical projects

- To learn job specific skills and knowledge relevant to the area which hewill take over as in-charge.

- To receive training in operation of critical equipments.

For learning job specific skills and knowledge the following two methods to befollowed:

1. Job Rotation :Rotation from doing things by hand under a controlled situation to observationassignments to supervisory position in respect of production, maintenance,service activities of the area concerned as the case may be.

2. Attachment : Trainees will be attached with senior managers to work in assistant–to-positions for brief spell to broaden the view point regarding other aspects of the job. The manager concerned, among other things gives him selectedassignments to test and active judgments of the trainee. Before taking over the independent responsibility he prepares a report on his learning pointsduring period which will reflect his confidence level.

(a) Business Planning : The system to create necessary foundation before going for ISO, TQM.The system is based on application of Internal Customer Satisfaction & Microplanning concepts.The system is very good for achieving significant cost reduction. System draws its success fromintellectual and emotional  support of all the executives for the system. Besides performanceplans, the plans also include resource plans, cash flow, development and growth, building 

capabilities, removal of internal weaknesses, and monitoring. The benefits of the system are –customer focused organisation, significant cost reduction, improvement in cultural discipline,introduction of concept of individual responsibility and timely completion of jobs/projects, growthoriented organisation.

(b) Value Engineering / Value Analysis : It is a powerful cost reduction and cost control system. It isa function oriented system and is a very powerful technique for improving productivity.
