HIGH POINT UNIVERSITY offers many exciting

opportunities for students to study in the U.S. and abroad.

Through the short-term Global Experience programs, students

spend two to four weeks on-site while completing classes that

satisfy general education, major, or elective requirements.

HPU faculty members accompany each group and teach the

courses. These opportunities are ideal for students who are

unable to devote an entire semester to study abroad, and they

are available to students as early as their freshman year. Course

offerings and destinations vary each year to meet a wide array

At age eleven, I marched for the reunification of a divided Germany, carrying a candle and a German flag, passing by armed guards who allowed a peaceful revolution. I walked through the Brandenburg Gate in a free Berlin, sat on top of the Wall that had separated a people and chipped away chunks with my dad’s hammer and chisel. It is thanks to these live-changing events that I was able to study abroad in the United States, and that has impacted me greatly.

Today, I help countless students at High Point University to fulfill their dream of living and studying in another country. You, too, can walk in a free Berlin, if you join our Global Business program. You, too, can deepen your understanding of the world. You, too, can explore and experience the exciting things our world has to offer. And when you do, I hope it will change your life as it has mine.

Since I began working at HPU in 2012, almost 600 HPU students have traveled on interactive Global Experience programs on six continents. Now’s your chance to join the growing number of HPU students who are discovering the satisfaction and fulfillment that an experience abroad is sure to yield. Your journey begins now! The pages that follow contain the 14 Global Experience programs for 2016. I’ll be the first to tell you that your choice will be difficult. You’ll find programs that span the globe and a variety of topics.

Research specific works of art and architecture, then confront them face-to-face on this highly experiential and hands-on tour of Italy.

Explore Costa Rican history, religion, politics, environmental issues, family values, art and popular culture. Immerse yourself in the Spanish language and Costa Rican culture by living with a host family in San José. Earn EIGHT credits while studying at the Universidad Veritas. Along the way, tour a volcano, visit a market, explore a coffee plantation and enjoy whitewater rafting in a beautiful national park.
