Project details

Mini project: Planning and Designing of Septic Tank

Our project deals with planning and designing of the septic tank and production of fuel gases from the effluent gas from that tank to reduce the usage of LPG or other fuel gases

Main project: Study on Mechanical Properties of Concrete Using Partial Replacement of Cement by Various Ashes

In this project we investigate the mechanical properties of the concrete made

by partial replacement of cement with various ashes of rice husk, saw dust and

coconut fiber.The compressive strength, flexural strength and split tensile strength

of concrete tends to decrease when increase in percentage of Rice husk ash,

coconut fiber ash and saw dust ash except 2.5 %.With the addition of 2.5 % of all

ashes, it is observed that the compressive strength is 6.83%, With the addition of 2.5

% of all ashes,it is observed that the flexural strength is 4.9 and With the addition

of 2.5 % of all ashes, it is observed that the split tensile strength is 8.3% more than

conventional concrete With the addition of 5% of all ashes, it is observed that the

strength is decrease than conventional concrete.Hence replacement of 2.5% rice

husk ash, 2.5% coconut fiber ash and 2.5% of saw dust ash can be replaced for

cement without any strength reduction of concrete. The design mix ratio adapted as
