Page 3: Hoyos deck

INTRODUCTION

• Unlike competing solutions, Hoyos‟ technology and products:

– Can capture the iris and face in motion (i.e., up to three meters per

second) and at a distance (i.e., up to 30 feet today)

– Perform biometric matching with extraordinary accuracy and reliability,

primarily due to their successful utilization of the iris biometric, which is

widely acknowledged as the most accurate and unique biometric

– Are extremely easy to use and offer significantly greater throughput

(person and vehicle) capabilities than existing iris-based biometric systems

– Are highly scalable due to the Company‟s focus on producing radically

smaller and lower-cost devices

• Hoyos‟ solutions are the only end-to-end, biometric-based systems

commercially available in the world today offering all of the following

proprietary elements:

IDENTITY MANAGEMENT AND ADDRESSABLE MARKETS

• Every day, billions of people around the world use cards to access office and

parking facilities, passwords to access corporate networks and Internet sites,

PINs to complete transactions on ATMs, government-issued IDs (e.g., driver‟s

licenses and passports) to board commercial airlines and credit cards to pay

for items purchased at physical stores and on the Internet.

• All of these seemingly habitual but essential behaviors are enabled by one

fundamental concept – identity management, or the process of determining

whether an individual is actually who he or she claims to be.

• Identity management is required for virtually every major industry around the

world, particularly in markets in which a higher than average level of security is

needed.

ACCESS CONTROL MARKET

Physical Access Control Market

• Traditional card-based systems account for the majority of the market today.

• Despite being attractively priced for mass deployment (approximately $1,200 per unit on average), such

systems cost organizations hundreds of thousands of dollars annually to replace cards and millions of

dollars each year on card-based back-end management and maintenance.

• Additionally, card-based systems do not provide complete physical security since the card can be lost,

given away or replicated.

• As a result of these two factors, governments and businesses are increasingly seeking out advanced

technologies, such as biometric-based physical access control systems, that can not only provide

greater reliability, but also can be deployed in a cost-effective manner

ACCESS CONTROL MARKET

Logical Access Control Market

• The proliferation of personal computers in both the home and office, coupled with the rapid adoption

of mobile devices with access to the Internet and computer networks, have created an enormous

market for electronic transactions.

• Additionally, the need for increased information sharing among government agencies and large

corporations alike is driving the adoption of more computer-and network-based programs and

processes.

• As a result, governments, businesses and consumers around the world are increasingly dependent upon

computer networks, the Internet and intranets for information, services and entertainment.

• While the economical and societal benefits of such networks have been significant, the reliance upon

electronic data and transactions has created an increasing need to control access to electronic

networks (and the devices that connect to them) in order to combat the very costly threats of identity

theft and fraud

TECHNOLOGY

• Hoyos‟ proprietary technologies consist of its own embedded processors

running Linux and support access control industry standards such as Wiegand.

• Rather than utilize traditional off-the-shelf access control hardware

components, Hoyos designs and sources its own infrared illuminators, optics-

lenses, CMOS sensors, and associated controllers.

• The Company‟s technology is further differentiated by its own software

platforms that acquire multi-modal biometrics (face and iris) of subjects both

at a distance (of 6 to 30 feet) and in motion.

Page 13: Hoyos deck

PRODUCTS - HBOX®

• HBOX® capitalizes on Hoyos‟ multi-modal biometric technology combining the iris and face to deliver a high level of security with convenience, ease-of-use, high-person throughput and cost-effectiveness that has, until now, limited the widespread deployment of biometric security systems

• Current iris systems (as well as fingerprint systems) are particularly burdensome for users and have many steps – several of which might confuse a user and require manual intervention – so in-practice person-throughput is low

• HBOX®, on the other hand, allows an individual to simply walk through a gate/portal equipped with the device, looking up as he or she passes through

• As this occurs, HBOX® performs real-time, in-motion and at-a-distance matching of iris images acquired against an iris database for recognition, with a match allowing the user to access the facility.

• HBOX® offers high-throughput (up to 50 people per minute), unobtrusive physical access control ideally suited for critical facilities with high levels of foot traffic (e.g., airports)

• HBOX® is algorithm agnostic, allowing it to be coupled with any facial and iris algorithms should customers choose not to use Hoyos‟ proprietary acquisition and matching algorithms (SAMBI™ and SIMS) that are included with HBOX®

Page 14: Hoyos deck

PRODUCTS - HBOX® - V

• HBOX®-V delivers a high level of security with convenience, ease-of-use, high-vehicle throughput and cost-effectiveness designed for vehicular access control applications, such as entrances/exits of:

– Car parks

– Military bases

– Other critical facilities

• As cars approach vehicular access points at speeds of up to five miles per hour, HBOX®-V (ideally deployed two per lane to read passengers on both sides of the vehicle) performs real-time, in-motion and at-a-distance

matching of iris images acquired against an iris database for recognition – without the vehicle having to stop.

• With a throughput of up to 12 vehicles per minute, HBOX®-V is the fastest vehicular access control product on the market today.

Page 15: Hoyos deck

PRODUCTS - EYESWIPE® • EyeSwipe® is a miniaturized version of Hoyos‟ HBOX® technology, performing real-time iris recognition on

the fly and at a distance

• Designed for applications such as physical access control, border control and immigration, EyeSwipe® is

ideally suited to replace the traditional card-based systems that are widely used for physical access

control to and throughout (e.g., server rooms, vaults, etc.) critical buildings and facilities

– Although these traditional systems are attractively priced for mass deployment (~$1,200/unit on

average), organizations that utilize them ultimately end up spending hundreds of thousands of

dollars annually to replace cards and millions of dollars each year on card-based back-end

management and maintenance

• EyeSwipe® eliminates and/or significantly reduces these ongoing cash costs completely and, more

importantly, eliminates the risk of identity fraud by replacing the card – the Achilles heel of all token-based

systems – with the iris

• Different versions of the EyeSwipe® serve different throughput requirements, ranging from 15 to 30 people

per minute

Page 16: Hoyos deck

PRODUCTS - EYESWIPENANO® • EyeSwipeNano® is the highly miniaturized version of Hoyos‟ HBOX® technology, performing real-time iris

recognition on the fly and at a distance

• Designed to deploy in mass production applications such as physical access control, EyeSwipeNano® is

ideally suited to replace the traditional card-based systems that are widely used for physical access

control to and throughout enterprises, and small businesses

Page 17: Hoyos deck

PRODUCTS - HCAM® - E

• The smallest member of the Hoyos family of products, HCAM®-E is an iris recognition solution developed to eliminate online identity fraud associated with online banking and online payments.

• Designed as a desktop biometric enrollment and verification system, HCAM®-E can be connected to a personal computer or laptop to provide logical access control and/or secure online financial/banking applications.

• HCAM®-E can be mounted on a tripod or easily attached to the laptop/desktop computer via a clip or other mounting hardware (just like a webcam).

• HCAM®-E hardware is complemented by SAMBI™ and EyEnroll™ software, which is simply downloaded on the

laptop/desktop computer and allows for matching to be performed on the computer.

• In the case of a small iris database, matching is performed on the laptop/desktop computer to which the HCAM®-E is connected.

• A remote server is reached via the laptop/desktop computer for large iris databases, whereby limited memory and processor capability in the laptop/desktop computer may not be able to process all the data.

Page 18: Hoyos deck

Page 19: Hoyos deck

SOFTWARE

• Hoyos‟ state-of-the-art hardware is complemented by a full range of back-end solutions and software. SAMBI™ and SIMS, the Company‟s proprietary biometric acquisition and matching algorithms, are included in the list price as a runtime license per unit for an unlimited number of users.

SAMBI™ • A reliable and fast biometric software suite

• Uses complex control algorithms to obtain the highest quality images of the iris and the face (separately and fused) at the furthest distance, lowest cost and longest illuminator life-time, with dramatically reduced power consumption

SIMS (Scalable Iris Matching System) • A reliable and fast biometric software suite

• Uses complex control algorithms, is capable of 1:n search of iris images within a database of one million iris templates and can return a match/no-match within one second

• Also capable of matching poorer iris data (in addition to matching high resolution iris images)

– The ability to match lower quality images (e.g., 125 pixels) is important as all other matchers in the market require 200 pixels, which most devices are not capable of capturing

• Unique competitive position as a result of being the only biometric matching software born in the U.S.

Page 20: Hoyos deck
