Preface

Welcome to the tutorial that will try to explain how to install, configure and use NinjaMonials Rotator module. Tutorial will cover all the steps that are needed to go through to module installation, configuration and customization.

Introduction

NinjaMonials Rotator module is designed to allow you to display your testimonials anywhere on your site.

Testimonials are a great way to improve visitor confidence in your site, as they can hear from other people who are already using your service.

Features:

Select testimonials by ID or randomly choose them

3 different quote styles available

Optional links to the main NinjaMonials Component

HTML and CSS valid

Let start tutorial by installing NinjaMonials Rotator module. Log in to Joomla backend and follow the steps to install module.

NinjaMonials Rotator module installation

Click “Installers” -> “Modules”:

Click “Browse” button and choose NinjaMonials Rotator module archive on disk to install.

Picture 2: Click “Upload File & Install” button

Click on “Upload File & Install” button to install module.

After few moments (this depends on your network and internet speed) the screen with message that installation was successful should appear.

When module is successfully installed you should make initial configuration so it will be customized according to your needs and wishes.

Let’s do that now.

Click “Modules” -> “Site modules”:

Choose NinjaMonials Rotator module:

Set „Published“ state to „Yes“:

Here is the list of the rest of options that can be configured with this module:

Module class suffix – put here class suffix from your template's CSS to style this module

according to your needs and wishes

XHTML/CSS validation – due to limitations in Mambo and Joomla we must use certain php

functions to have the module output valid XHTML and CSS. These functions are senstivie and

will crash your site if it contains any php errors, producing a white content-less screen. Please

switch validation off if this happens to you

Include CSS – would you like to include the CSS file for this module. Please note that a

maximum of one CSS file will be loaded on a particular page.

CSS style – choose how do you want your Testimonials styled? Please note that only one

style can be used on a particular page.

Number of Testimonials – set number of testimonials to display at once

Testimonial Rotation– choose whether testimonials should rotate randomly or always show

the same, fixed testimonials. If Fixed is selected here, you must set at least one fixed

testimonial id below

Fixed Testimonial IDs – only used if Testimonial Rotation above is set to Fixed. This is the a

comma seperated list of the ids of the testimonials you wish to display

Show Website – choose whether the website field should be displayed along with the name

of the submitter

Display 'Show All' link? – display a link to the show all function of the main component

Display 'Add' link? – display a link to the add function of the main component, so viewers

can add their own testimonials

When you are satisfied with choosen configuration option, click on „Save“ button.
