Enjoy our uniquely themed programs featuring some of the region’s finest musical talent. Formed to provide Howard County with a completely professional orchestra, The Howard County Concert Orchestra (HCCO) is dedicated to exceptional performances of classical music from the Baroque era to the 21 st century. This chamber orchestra is different from a symphony orchestra—composed of a smaller number of musicians, from as few as eight to as many as 45 professional musicians selected from a wealth of regional talent. HCCO has the versatility to perform music written originally for smaller forces as well as music written for larger symphony orchestras, but with greater clarity, highlighting the unique sound of each instrument and bringing an intimacy and attention to detail not otherwise possible.
