Did you get it right?

Ask yourself the following questions: Would someone who is not familiar with my occupational background

understand the kind of work I do? Is everything in my resume related to the job to which I’m applying? Have I omitted any unique, but relevant special experience or skills I

possess that might distinguish me from other candidates? Have I demonstrated significant accomplishments and problem solving

abilities? Did I spell out ALL acronyms at least once? Did I use correct grammar, spelling, etc…?

Example (competitive resume)Job Description:As the Extravehicular Activity (EVA), Robotics, and Crew Systems Operations Division Technical Assistant (TA), I represented my division in a wide variety of roles and functions. As the division's representative to the Systems Operations Data File Control Board and Crew Procedures Control Board, I reviewed and approved crew and ground procedures for nominal and contingency spacecraft operations. As my division's representative to the Joint Flight Rules Control Board, I reviewed and approved flight rules. As my division's representative at MOD Flight Readiness Reviews (FRR) and Uplink Readiness Reviews (URR), I acquired and presented technical and administrative data pertaining to in-flight anomalies, workarounds, procedures, certification status, staffing plans, new operations, tool and display certification, and training requirements. I participated in my division's coordination with directorate and program offices to establish content, cost, schedule of products, deliverables, and services by reviewing and making comments to our division's Technical Cost Schedule Review package for the EVA Office and by reviewing my division's Program Operating Plans for the Shuttle and Station Programs. As a member of my division's internal Configuration Control Board, I also participated in reviews of the Neutral Buoyancy Lab (NBL) and Space Vehicle Mockup Facility (SVMF) content, cost, schedule of products, deliverables, and services. I observed my division's Contracting Officer's Technical Representative (COTR) interacting with the Contracting Officer and Contractor as part of the performance evaluation process of the NBL/SVMF Operations Contract (NSOC). I helped coordinate the SFOC evaluations for my division. This was accomplished as a participant in EVA and Robotics technical coordination meetings for Shuttle thermal protection system inspection and repair. I observed the analysis of spacecraft systems for identification of possible systems constraints, in-flight malfunctions, and contingency situations in order to report anomaly status and required operations workarounds at the MOD Flight Readiness Review. As my division's representative to the MOD Products Integration Board (MPIB) and the Schedule Tracking and Technical Summary (STATS) Meeting, I ensured that my division was aware of schedules and threats associated with ground and onboard software changes. I helped ensure that ground equipment and data processing requirements and capabilities could support the transmission, processing, and display of robotics and EVA telemetry and command data. I supported NASA's Vision for Space Exploration by supporting meetings for the Advanced EVA Project and the Crew Exploration Vehicle Project. I possess knowledge of the Space Shuttle and Space Station systems (including robotics systems), console operations procedures, training procedures and mission objectives. I possess knowledge of Shuttle and Space Robotics Systems and the operations of all types of spacecraft systems as gained through classes and actual monitoring of real-time and simulated activities including: Generic Robotics Training lessons and the SRMS and Mobile Servicing System computer based trainers (CBT).
