HOW TO USE BENCHMARK E-MAIL

Have no worries, here’s a tool to

help you


Let’s see how we can use

Benchmark E-mail


Go to your browser


And type

www.benchmarkemail.com


This should display on your

browser


Click on Signup Free


This form will show up


Now let’s go ahead and fill up

the details


Type your First Name


Type your Last Name


Type your Company Name


Select your List Size


Type your Email Address


Type your Phone Number


Type your Login


And your password


Once your done, Click Get Started


And wait for it…


And voila!


This is your Dashboard


Let’s go ahead and setup our list


Click on Create New List


This screen will show up


Here you have 3 options:


You can import your contacts


Copy and Paste


Or Add them manually


Let’s check out how it’s done


First let’s name our list


Select Import Contacts From a File


Then click on Save & Add Contacts


This should display after


Click on Choose File


And then select your file


Once you’ve selected the file,

click upload


Once your list is loaded, this will show


Click on Save & Next


Give a short description of your list


Type in the compilation details


And indicate the last time you

emailed the list


Then click Save & Next


This will show up


You can also import your

contacts


Let’s try to import our Gmail

Contacts


Click on connect to Gmail


Select your account


This will show up


Click on Accept


This should display


Tick the box to confirm you

agree to the terms


Then click Continue to Add Contacts


You can also copy & paste your

contacts


Tick Copy & Paste Contacts


Then click Save & Add Contacts


Select the list you want to add

contacts to


Click on Save & Next


And now copy & paste your e-mail

addresses


Make sure to add one e-mail per

line only


Once done, click Add Contacts


You can also add contacts

manually


Click on Add Individual Contacts


Click on Save & Add Contacts


Select the list you want to Add

Contacts


Click Save & Next


And then type the e-mail

address manually


You can also put some details


Then click on Add Contacts


Now, one way of growing your

list…


Is by creating a sign up form


Click on e-mail tools


And select Signup Forms


This should display


Click Create Signup Form


Type your Signup Form Name


Select your Contact List


Then Click Save & Next


Select the Fields you would like

to include


Type in your Signup Form Title


Type in your Signup Form Introduction


You can also upload your logo


And select from the templates


This is how your preview

would look like


Click on Load Template


This should display in your Preview

Panel


Click on Save & Next below


This will show


Here you can customize your

confirmation e-mail


Type the From Name


Select From Email


Type in the Subject


Type your Welcome Message


Normally this would be preset


You can also customize your

Closing/Signature


Type the Email for the Test Email


Then Click Send Test Email


This should display


Check your Email


Once you open it, this should

display


Now, check out the

“Confirmation Settings”


Here you have 3 sections


Thank You Page


Confirmed Opt-In Page


Opt-In Alerts


For this tutorial, we will just

use the Standard Pages


Select your Opt-In Alerts


Then click Save & Next


This should show up


Choose from any of the 3 options


Option 1


Paste this code on your blog or

Website


Option 2


This will create a pop-up button


Option 3


This creates a pop up from a

text link


Let’s try placing the signup

form directly


This will generate a signup

form code


And this is how it should look

on your Blog


You can also place a Signup

Form on your Facebook


Click on e-mail tools


And select Signup Forms


This should display


Click on Adding a Signup Form to

Facebook


Let’s try to add one on a Fan Page


You will be directed to another page


Scroll down to Step 2


Click on “click here to select

which page”


This will bring you to Facebook


Select which page you want to add

the Tab


Then click Add Page Tab


Then go to the Facebook page

and select Signup Form


This will show up


Click on Application Settings


This page will display


You will need to switch user


Click on Continue…


This will prompt you to login


Type in your Benchmark Email

user name


And Password


This page will display


Type in the Signup Form Title


Type in the Signup Form Introduction


Select Contact Lists


Then click Save Settings


Once your done, this should display


Your app is now installed
