Setup a new connection definition for XML to cloud replication:
Uni-directional connections are supported only with current version. (XML to cloud or any other)
There is an overwrite option to use for cleanup, if your list already contains data.
Do not enable scheduling at this point. Please enable scheduling later on, when all tests are passed.

Setup a XML data source for cloud replication and verify settings:
Select the Layer2 XML Provider to access your XML-based data.
Set URL or file path to your XML data and verify the connection string.
Anonymous access is used here. See CC manual for other types of authentication.
Please note that you can use the full set of XPath expressions in query, e.g. to select some fields only or to simulate a where-condition.
You have to provide one or more unique fields to be used as a primary key.

Setup a data destination list for your XML data and verify settings:
Create a SharePoint list of any type (e.g. news, contacts, tasks, events or custom) manually in the Office 365 cloud with columns required.
Select the Layer2 SharePoint CSOM Provider to use web services.
Setup the connection string for example as: Url=https://mydomain.sharepoint.com/sites/mysite/; List=myXML; Authentication=Office365; [email protected]; Pass=myPassword
There are other authentication methods available, if required. See CC manual for this.
The URL goes to the site that hosts the list.

Setup your meta data column mapping for document library to cloud replication:
You can simply use the auto-mapping feature.
Please check data types. Some conversion is done to use numbers or dates in SharePoint.

When all connection settings are done and verified successfully, go back to the configuration settings and run the connection first time. After all data is transferred, you can benefit from your external data replicated to the cloud.
In case of errors while replicating first time, please see the log section. Please increase log level for more details, if required.
Replication can take some time, depending on amount of data and bandwidth. See progress bar.
Later on, only changed items are replicated, this is much faster compared to initial replication.
To setup automatic background replication, e.g. every 24 hours, go to connection settings again and enable scheduling. Make sure that the Cloud Connector Windows Service is up and running.

Please note:
No installation in the cloud required. No access to corporate network from outside.
Almost any corporate data source can be replicated.
Sync can be done bi-directional (if supported by driver and query).
In the cloud all features of lists and libraries are fully available, e.g. search, lookups, change notifications, workflow, enterprise metadata etc.
