How to Start Your LSU Flores MBA Journey

Admissions Requirements

• A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.

• Previous work experience is desirable but not required for the full-time program.

– Three years for PMBA candidates, three years for online candidates, and eight (or more) years for EMBA candidates.

• An acceptable score on the GMAT or GRE.– Work experience is typically weighted more

heavily for PMBA, EMBA, and online candidates.

• A minimum grade-point average of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) on all undergraduate work completed and graduate work completed or attempted.

• Acceptance by the LSU Graduate School.

• Acceptance by the LSU Flores MBA Program Admissions Committee.– Interview will be scheduled after all scores and applications have been submitted.

(full-time only)

• Applicants are considered for the fall semester only for all campus-based tracks. Check lsuonline.lsu.edu for online MBA application deadlines. The final day to apply online to the LSU Graduate School for fall campus-based tracks is May 15.

• Students applying after May 15 will be assessed a $25 late application fee and will be evaluated on a rolling basis. (campus-based tracks only)

Register and Prepare for the GMAT • Forbes has said most students require at least

three to six months of preparation to achieve their full potential on the GMAT exam.

• Take a diagnostic exam so you can identify your

strengths and weaknesses and the improvements that are necessary to reach your target score.

• LSU Flores MBA GMAT requirements:

• Full-time: 600 or higher

• PMBA, Online MBA or EMBA: A GMAT waiver or score of 500 or higher

• Register to take the GMAT exam at a testing center near you at www.mba.com.

• The further in advance you register to take the GMAT, the greater your choice of available dates for taking the exam.

Register and Prepare for the GRE

• According to ETS, preparation for the GRE depends on how much time you have and your preferences for how to prepare. At a minimum, you should review the administrative procedures, types of questions and directions, approximate number of questions and amount of time for each section.

• LSU Flores MBA GRE Requirements• Full-time: 315 or higher

• PMBA, Online MBA. or EMBA: 305 or higher

• You can register to take the GRE at a testing center near you at mygre.ets.org.

Studying for the GMAT and GRE

• Design a study plan to work with your daily schedule.

• Familiarize yourself with the test structure and overview, format, and question types.

• Become comfortable with your test questions, timing, and pace by taking practice tests.

• Consider simulating the actual testing environment by using a timer and by eliminating water, snacks, music, and technology during your practice tests.

• Review your progress and plan to work on your weak areas.

1. Complete the online Graduate Admissions Application form.

2. Pay the $50 application fee online via credit card or debit card.

3. Submit a one-page professional resume and personal statement. For the personal statement, please describe the following:

• Your interest in the LSU Flores MBA Program and your specific program choice (Full-time, PMBA, Online MBA, or EMBA).

• Include short- and long-term professional goals.

• Be sure to address any specific skill sets you wish to develop and how the LSU Flores MBA Program can contribute to your development in this area (4,000 character maximum).

4. Writing Sample: Not required for MBA Program.

5. GMAT score (Full-time: 600; PMBA, Online MBA, or EMBA: 500).

6. GRE score (Full-time: 315; PMBA, Online MBA, or EMBA: 305) GMAT/ GRE waivers are available for exceptional part-time students.

7. Two letters of recommendation.

8. Financial statement (international students only).

International students, please visit the LSU Graduate School website for further application instructions.

Application Deadlines• All campus-based programs accept students

every fall semester.

• Full-time track– Round 1: December 6– Round 2: February 7– Round 3: April 4 – Final Deadline: May 15

• Professional and Executive tracks– A late fee is required for all applications

received after May 15 for the upcoming fall semester, per the LSU Graduate School deadline.

• Online track– The online track has six start dates a year,

and the application deadline is four weeks before the desired start date.
