Step1

• Create an account on Slideshare

• It’s free, but make sure not to ask for spam or other promotions

• Generally, you only need an email address to create an account

Create a PowerPoint

• Microsoft PowerPoint is the standard in slide presentation software

• I recommend OpenOffice.org - Impress by Sun Microsystems. It is free, and works on Windows, Apple and Linux.

• Go to http://openoffice.org to download it!

Upload Your PowerPoint to Slideshare

• First – login with your username and password

• Second – Click “Quick Upload”

• Third – Browse for your powerpoint

• Fourth – Put in settings for your slideshow

• Title, Tags, Description, Category, and Privacy

• Fifth – Your file is uploaded and converted to Flash

• Sixth – Verify the presence of your converted slideshow. This can take some time depending on the size of your PPT

• Seventh – Click to open your slideshow

• Eighth – Highlight your Flash Object embedding tag and copy it with “Control+C” on the keyboard.

• Ninth – Go into Blackboard and create a file or edit a file

• Tenth – Click on enable HTML creator to activate the Java WYSYWIG editor

• Eleventh – Click on Source View to see the HTML

• Twelvth – Paste the Object/Embed code that you copied right after the <body> tag

• Thirteenth – If you want your Flash slideshow to show up larger you will need to change the size settings in the tags. There are three size settings to change
