Logging into CME Direct
Log into CME Direct with your CME Group Login ID and
Password via: https://cmedirect.cmegroup .com. CME
Direct leverages SMS authentication. Make sure to have
your mobile device is on file with CME Group when
logging into CME Direct for the first time so that you
can receive your authentication code.
Opening User Admin
Login as an Administrator and use the User Admin tab
to manage the users at your company.
If you have more than one profile in CME Direct, select a
user you want to log into CME Direct with.
If you do not see the User Admin tab upon login, you can
launch it from the Menu >- New View and then select
User Admin.

Managing Market Permissions
1. From the User Admin tab, click the user you
want to manage. Right-click to select ‘Manage
user login…’
2. Select the ‘Market Permissions’ tab to view users’
current market data.
3. Use any of the filter fields to change your view of
market permissions.
4. From the Permissions field, toggle between
Read Only and/or Interactive permissions as
user access can be either.

5. Grant or remove market permissions individually by checking or unchecking the Granted box. Market permissions
can be granted or removed in bulk by right-clicking in the market permissions screen. Select “Clear All” to remove
all granted market permissions. Select ‘Grant All’ to add all available market permissions.
6. When bulk managing market permissions, the ‘Clear All’ and ‘Grant All’ manage all available markets based on
applied filters. Example: If you grant all markets while filtering on Product Category: Agricultural, you are granting
all agricultural markets only.
7. Select OK to save all changes to market permissions.
**Only Exchange products will be billable, and you do not need to adjust OTC Venue permissions for billing.
There is no charge for OTC market permissions and are given as default. Permissions reference tradability.
Interactive market permissions allow users to trade the selected products providing they have been permissioned
at the clearing account level. Read Only market permissions allow users to view these products without being
able to generate an order ticket but the exchange data will still be billable.**

CME Direct Roles
Use the Manage User feature to define user access, roles and sub-roles. Right-click the user and select Manage
User. You will then see tabs for Primary and Secondary Roles.
There are a number Primary and Secondary Roles made up of sub-roles, some of which can be edited depending on the
function. For a full description of the available roles refer to the CME Direct Firm Admin User Help from the CME Direct
Toolkit.

Maintain Clearing Accounts
You can assign clearing accounts to users within your company. Each assigned account is available to the user for
making transactions within the CME Direct Trading Client. A user set up as a trader can only be assigned clearing
accounts belonging to that user’s company.
To permission a Company Clearing Account to a user, use the transfer buttons to move the account from the
available account pane to the assigned account pane.
Assign accounts to any user from your firm. You can toggle between them using the Assigned to field. Use the Assigned
To option to assign accounts at the company level, desk level, or to the user of your choice.

Creating Desks
The Desk Assignment feature allows Administrators to create a Desk or move a user to a new Desk for access to trade
executions. Use the Desk functionality to group users together which provides shared visibility within a company.
From the User Administration window, right-click a row and select
Add Desk to ........... Enter a Desk name and click OK.
To assign a user to a Desk, right click on the user and select Manage user login from the User Admin menu. You can then select the required desk from the available Desk
drop-down field.
Disabling User Logins
You can also disable a user login, which prevents the user from logging into CME Direct and removes any billing
obligation. This is a two step process for complete removal.
Step 1: From the User Admin tab, select the user to
disable. Right-click and select ‘Disable user
login…’ You are prompted to confirm your
action.
When you disable a user login, the user profile
remains intact and is still visible in the system. You
may enable the user login again at any time.
Step 2: To remove a user’s access completely, please
email [email protected] with
the details of your request.

ClearPort Reporting
CME ClearPort Reporting provides standardized reports
that contain various information.
Two of the most useful reports are as follows:
Trade Summary Report – displays the list of trades
entered for a range of clearing dates
UNO User Info Report – shows all the users with login
access to ClearPort and Account Management Services.

There is no report showing users in CME Direct but they can be viewed and exported from the platform.
Login to CME Direct as an Admin –> Menu –> New View –> User Administration –> Right click on a user –>
Copy view to clip board –>Paste into an Excel spreadsheet.

Account Management Services (Trading Firms Only)
As a verification officer/Trader Administrator for your firm you will be given Read-Only access into the Account
Management Services application. This will allow you to view the clearing accounts where you are permissioned as
the Account Owner.
**Your clearing member creates and controls these accounts, so you would need to contact them for amendments**
Account Management Services can be accessed via the CME Customer Center under the Portfolio & Risk
tab.
Click on the Account tab within Account Management Services and can then search for your accounts using any
of the filter fields.

Once you located your account, click the Account Number from results and it will show you the Account Information.
There are several sections containing account information, which is controlled by your clearing firm.

there are the Market Type
and Product Permissions
which show what an
account may trade. Product
availability is based on the
selected market types. If All
products are assigned,
individual products cannot
be selected on this page.
