How to make a Chinese Staircase Friendship Bracelet

Chose 3 colors although you can chose anywhere between 3-8 colors. (the more colors you choose the thicker the bracelet will be.) Measure out a length 3x the width you want the final product to be.

Fasten a knot and tape it. You’ll only use one type of knot: the forward knot. Take the string you want to be first and pull it slightly to the left and fold it over the other strings.

Tuck the end of the string under and through the fold you just made.

Pull the end of the string tight. You should pull it tighter than this.

How to make a Bordered Chevron Friendship Bracelet

This is a bit more difficult than the Chevron. It requires 4 colors and 8 strings. This one has 4 colors but you can choose 4-8 colors. There should be two strings of each color (total 8).The order to start is 1 2 3 4 4 3 2 11 = orange; 2 = blue; 3 = purple; 4 = pink. Start with the right-most string (orange).

Bend it over the blue so the end is towards the center. Pull the end under and through the bend you just made. Using the same orange string make a forward knot (end pointing away from center) on the same blue string. The order should be the same as before.

Now use the blue string to make 2 backward knots (1 on purple 1 on pink). The order should be: 1 2 3 4 2 3 4 1 Now, using the left over orange do a forward-backward knot on the left blue string.

The end points toward the center and backward away from the center. The order should not have changed from the last step
