How To Log On the Computer At School

A Tutorial for Preschoolers and Kindergarteners

Step One

• If you are the first user of the day, turn on the computer and monitor,

• Look for the On Button • Press the button, it will light

up and then please wait patiently for the computer to come on and warm up.

Step Two

• The computer will run through a lot of screens before the screen to start the “Log On” process appears.

Step Three

• On the Log On screen, you will be asked to perform a start up task and enter the information needed to successfully log on.

What you need• Your computer name card

with your last name and first name

• Your school ID number or password* (your school ID number is on your name card)

• You will only have 3 attempts to log on, be sure you have all the necessary information needed before starting.

*Remember not to share your ID number or password with anyone!

Step Four

• Find the following keys on the Keyboard

• Control

• Alternate

• Delete

• To get to the Log On screen, you will need to press the Ctrl – Alt – Delete keys on the keyboard holding down each key in the following order:

• On the Log On screen you will be asked to enter:– User Name:

lastname.firstname (no spaces – all lowercase letters)

– Password: Student ID number

– Log on to : WHRSD

• Then press Enter
