• Temporary visitors to the United States must apply for and obtain a nonimmigrant visa before beginning their journey. The past fiscal year the USA embassy adjudicated more than a half million applications!

Pay the non-refundable application fee and schedule appointment (if required). 

Visa Application Checklist

Schedule appointment for biometrics to be taken at the Applicant Service Center (ASC)

in Bogota or Medellin

 Attend your Applicant Service Center (ASC) appointment in Bogota or Medellin (if applicable).  During this appointment, your biometric information will be collected.  Applicants should present their current passport and DS-160 confirmation page.

Appear at U.S. Embassy in Bogota for your interview.  Appear on the date/time of your visa interview appointment.

After the Interview

• Traveling to the U.S.• When you arrive to the U.S., an

immigration officer from U.S. Customs and Border Protection of the Department of Homeland Security makes the decision as to whether or not to admit you into the United States and how long you may stay.The officer will review your passport, visa and capture your photo and fingerprints. If you are approved for entry.In most cases, CBP will no longer process the paper form upon arrival. Instead, travelers will be provided with a CBP admission stamp in their travel document.
