Organizing your Data

•Go to abbyisqueen.com and select the “Organize your Data” page.

•Click on the text that says “View Sample Excel File”

•The File will open, showing you the format that your data will need to be in, in order to geocode the addresses.

•Now that you can see the correct format, organize your addresses so that your spreadsheet has only the necessary columns.

•Make sure that you save your edits as a separate file.

•Your file is now ready to be uploaded to abbyisqueen.com

•Go to the “Geocoding Your Addresses” page

•Click on the “Open Geocoding File” link to browse your computer.

•A new tab will appear asking you to Upload your File.

•Select “Choose File”

•Open the spreadsheet that contains the addresses you want to geocode.

•Press the “Upload” button

•Your results will appear in a new tab, please wait while your spreadsheet processes completely

•Once the geocoding process is complete (1), you can highlight and copy your new data (2). You can then paste it into a new spreadsheet (3).

You can organize the abbyisqueen.com output by using the “Text to columns” function in your spreadsheet program.

1. Highlight the column containing your data

2. Select “Data” and then “Text to Columns…”

3. When the window appears, choose “Delimited” and then hit the “Next” button

4. Your Delimiter should be set to “Other”, type in a quotation mark (“)

5. Select the “Finish” button

•Add a row to the top of your data where you will be able to put your column names.

•You can delete the columns in between the data (highlighted in green) for clarity.

•You can copy and paste your data into your original spreadsheet.

•Make sure that you spot-check the data for errors, Just In Case!!

After organizing your Output, you’ll see that there is an accuracy rating (0-9) attached to each geocoded point. abbyisqueen.com was developed using Google Maps API and therefore contains the

same rate of error.
