HOW TO DOWNLOAD AND CREATE YOUR ZOOM ACCOUNTZoom is an online platform that allows you to meet with people virtually through your desktop computer, laptop computer, smartphone or computer tablet. For this example we will be launching Zoom on a desktop computer using Google Chrome. To download and install Google Chrome click here.

STEP 1Downloading ZoomTo get started, download the Zoom application from this link: https://zoom.us/support/download. Once you visit that link, an automatic download will begin. When the download is complete, click the box to install the Zoom app.

STEP 2Launching ZoomOnce you complete the Zoom installation, double-click the Zoom application icon that will appear...

STEP 3Creating Your Zoom AccountUpon opening the Zoom application, you will see a page that gives you the option to “Join a Meeting” or “Sign In”. Please click “Sign in”.

STEP 4Sign In or Sign Up For FreeIf you already have an existing Google Mail account or a Facebook account you can link them with Zoom. Click whichever option you would like to link Zoom with, and sign in. If you do not wish to link your Facebook or Google account, or do not have an account with either one, you can click “Sign Up Free” on the bottom right corner.

STEP 5Birthday VerificationOnce you click the “Sign up Free” link, a new web browser page will open. Enter your birthday for verification purposes and click continue.

STEP 6Entering Your Email AddressAfter entering your birthday, a new page will appear asking for your work email address, but you may use your personal email address if you would like and click “Sign Up”.

STEP 7Link Sent to Email AddressThe page will then say that there has been a confirmation link sent to your email address.

STEP 8Confirmation Link Sent to Email AddressOpen your email inbox and find the welcome message from Zoom that should look like this illustration, and click the “Activate Account”

STEP 9School Registration QuestionA new page will open and ask if you are signing up on behalf of a school; click “No” and then “Continue”.

STEP 10Making Your Zoom AccountNow you will be prompted to input your full name and to create a password for your Zoom account. Once you have done so click “Continue”.

STEP 11Invite Colleagues To Zoom QuestionZoom will ask you if you want to invite colleagues to join Zoom you can skip this step by clicking “Skip This Step” located at the bottom right of the page.

STEP 12Zoom Test MeetingNext, Zoom will ask you if you’d like to run a practice Zoom meeting. This is so you could understand how Zoom works and what it would look like once you are using it. You will be the only person in this Personal Meeting. Click “Open Zoom Meetings”. Here, you can see what the Zoom platform looks like.

*Once you are done exploring the practice room you have successfully created a Zoom Account and downloaded the Zoom Application. Don’t forget to sign-in to your new account on the Zoom Application.*
