To connect the HSU network and gain access the network drives a laptop have to be configured correctly. Follow the steps below. 1. Connect the laptop to a HSU network cable 2. Restart the laptop 3. Logon the HSU network using HSU username and password 4. Click the Start Button 5. Enter N:\VISTAWIFI in the Start Search prompt. 6. The following screen should appear if everything was successful. If this does not appear verify that you can see files in the N: and X: drive. Reboot and start the process again. Call Helpdesk if you cannot get this to appear. 7. Unplug the network cable 8. Restart the laptop 9. Logon the HSU network using HSU username and password 10. Test Internet by going to www.hsu.edu . Verify wireless is turned on. Troubleshoot and then call helpdesk if Internet does not work. Troubleshooting: 1. Disconnect from HSU_USER and connect HSU_FAC 2. Type \\EMC01\VOL1\FIXD in Start Search if drive X: does not connect.

ONLY do these steps if the previous steps did not work.
1. Click Control Panel in Start button menu.
2. Click “View network status and tasks” under “Network and Internet”.
3. Click “Manage wireless networks” located in the Task list on left side.

4. Click “Add” button.
5. Click Manually create a network profile.
6. Enter the settings below and click next

7. Click “Change connection settings.
8. Configure the check boxes as below and click Security tab.

9. Configure the option show below click Settings button.
10. Uncheck “Validate server certificate” and click Configure button to insure the “Automtically…”option is checked.

11. Click OK until you return the “Manually connect …” window can click “Connect to...”
12. Laptop should connect to HSU_FAC network after logging on to the HSU network. Restart the laptop several times if the laptop does not connect.
