Open up Photoshop, click on ‘file’ and then ‘new’.

Change the preset to ‘custom’ and the width & height to 120 millimetres , also change the resolution to 300 pixels.

A blank area of white will then come up, this is your working space.

Click and drag your selected image into Photoshop.

Once your image in Photoshop, it’ll look like this, click the enter key on your keyboard.

Go to the layer section on the right hand side of your screen. Right click on the layer thumbnail. Then rasterize the image, this will allow you to edit the picture, rather than the pixels.

Click on the symbol which is circled here, this will then allow you to adjust the size of the image and to make it fill your working space.

Make sure you click on this symbol when adjusting the size, it makes sure that the height and width stay the same throughout the readjustment of size.

Duplicate the layer ,turn the duplicate image black and white

On the original image, go to ‘select’ ‘colour range’ and click on what you want to stay the original colour, then click on ‘select’ ‘inverse’ and delete, then finally deselect.

Show the two layers together and the y will join together.
