for about 5 seconds before you are taken to the download page
What is coding ?• Coding means the manual process of associating audio
files (MP3) to specific area of a page
What does it do ?• It tells the smart reader of which MP3 file to play back
from a specific area of a page
How big is a code ?• A single code is 2.53mm2 big• To play back the same MP3 in a bigger area, simply mark a
bigger area with the same code; effectively repeating the same code all over that area

What do you need ?
The markup plan The MP3 audio files The clean copy used in EC2
Before you begin, you need to prepare 3 things:1) A clean copy of pages in digital format (either in PDF, JPEG, PNG, BMP)2) The audio files in MP3 format3) The markup copy of the page (this is optional if each page only have 1 or a few codes)

Get the software (EC2) up and running
1. Use the QR code on the front page to download the software, you are required to pay USD1.00 for download, but this will be refunded from your purchase order
2. The software is called EC2, it does not require installation; just make a new copy of it for each project
3. The first time you run it, a file named “send.to.ask.for.serial.no.now” will be generated, email this to [email protected]. I will email to you the license key “OidProducer.serial.no”
4. Put the license key in the same directory of EC2 and run it again
5. Each license enables one computer to use the software, repeat step 1 – 4 again for another computer

4) Define the number of language channel you have. Up to 10 languages can be played back from the same spot of a page; it works like a TV screen can display programs from different channels
This brings you to the folder where all the system audio is saved. You can replace them with your version, just keep the same file names.
5) Book number is used to separate one project from another if both projects use the same set of code number with different audio file (a crash will happen). It is not mandatory if you will do all your content in a single project and the same code number will not be assigned to more than 1 audio file
6) Define your code range here. Do not overlap code ranges unless you use book number to separate projects from one another
7) This range of codes are used for recording stickers. Again , do not overlap them or your recording will be accidentally overwritten

Defining your project (cont.)
EC2 has 3 gaming design function, each game or exercise take up one game code which is defined in this page. Do not overlap games code unless you use book ID to separate projects from one another
Use one code for each game and leave this area blank if you do not have game in the project

Set up 3rd parties software to work with EC2
8) You can specify any drawing and image editing software installed in your PC to edit the image file during the coding process.9) Same for sound editing software in your PC.
This is optional. Focus object is a small white color speech bubble clipart automatically added to each coded area. It is useful when the background of the page is black or dark color since dark background color will render the reader insensitive . Adding a white speech bubble can remedy this problem

Step 2 (Prepare the audio)To rip the audio from CD, separate it into individual clips and name them according to their corresponding code number

Step 5 (Output for printing) - ContTo generate the file for printing (pdf, tif, single page, multiple)
This section is important when you want to print with photocopier, laser printer or inkjet printers
“focus object” is white speech bubble which is useful when your projecta) has black or very deep color background;b) You are printing with digital printer, laser
printer, photocopier, inkjet printer; not by off-set printing 30

Step 5 (Output for printing) - ContTo generate the file for printing (pdf, tif, single page, multiple)
PageImage = the graphic and artwork of pagePattern = the code, the tiny little dots
i. Chose “PageImage + Pattern (pdf) multipage” if you want to print with digital printer, laser printer, inkjet printer. (But the dark area will not be sensitive since the dots are mixed up with dark color which makes them not recognizable)
ii. Chose “Pattern (pdf) multipage” if you are printing with traditional offset printing or you print a single page twice; the first time to print the PageImage from original document, second time to print the codes
