Workstep-based programming
SINUMERIK 828D BASIC M can be programmed in the same manner as workpiece machining is conceptually divided into various technological worksteps. Processes such as drilling, centering, grooving or pocket milling are represented in the form of worksteps. This makes CNC programs extremely compact and easily readable – even with complex machining operations. This unique programming comfort ensures minimized programming times and correspondingly maximized machining productivity.
Interlinking of worksteps
Thanks to automatic interlinking, position patterns only have to be entered once for machining sequence such as centering, deep-hole drilling and tapping. SINUMERIK 828D BASIC M derives the optimum machining sequence from this interlinking. This not only facilitates clear structures, but also saves valuable programming time. Moreover, interlinking is also helpful for machining continuation from a specific interruption point. Simply place the cursor on the position pattern, enter the workstep and position number and get going.
Dynamic broken-line graphics
Thanks to the dynamic broken-line graphics, all geometric elements are represented in the CNC program true to scale. The broken-line graphics automatically adjust to the geometric properties throughout the entire pro-gramming process. Also changed or added elements are immediately dis-played – without simulation. CNC memory and front interfaces even for large data volumes
Already the basic scope of SINUMERIK 828D BASIC M features a very generous 1 MB CNC memory. Should you require a larger memory, for example for complex mold-making programs, the memory can be simply expanded by insertion of a CF card in the front-side interface. You can leave the CF card plugged-in without any bother as an additional front-side USB interface is available for data transmis-sion. Simply save CNC programs on a memory stick and copy them to the CNC memory or the CF card.
Optimum networking included
Do you archive your CNC programs on a notebook? We provide the perfect PC tool for this purpose. Simply connect the notebook to the front-side Ethernet interface of SINUMERIK 828D BASIC M. No network know-how is required. With the RCS Commander, the files can be easily exchanged between your notebook and the CNC via drag & drop. SINUMERIK 828D BASIC M can be integrated in any company network via an additional 100Base T Ethernet interface – without the need for additional software protocols. Simply connect, configure and get going on the information highway.
Improved transparency with the Program Manager
How does SINUMERIK 828D BASIC M organize the data with this multitude of transmission media? In the same manner as on your PC. The SINUMERIK Program Manager displays all memory media on a clearly structured screen. For example, if you want to transfer a CNC program from a USB stick or data server to the CNC memory, you just have to copy and paste it to the desired location. PLC programming can be very easily and logically realized on the basis of the globally established ladder diagram technology (ladder steps) – either with a PLC programming tool on a PC or with a PLC editor integrated in the user interface in case of minor PLC expansions. The PLC of SINUMERIK 828D BASIC M is capable of processing the full scope of 24,000 logic instructions in a time period with guaranteed consistency. In case of very time-critical process signals, an additional servo-synchronous high-speed PLC task accelerates the response time. This represents a genuine advantage in terms of productivity.
Plug & play
Specifically designed input/output modules are available for SINUMERIK 828D BASIC M. These modules feature 72 digital inputs and 48 digital outputs as well as two analog inputs and two analog outputs, which are of course isolated to ensure optimum process stability. SINAMICS S120 Combi: A drive class of its own.
SINAMICS S120 Combi combines regenerative power supply as well as 3 or 4 motor modules for spindle and feed motors in one power module. This design offers a high degree of ruggedness. On the one hand, wiring of the individual motor modules is eliminated and on the other hand, heat dissipation is based on a large heat sink. Thermal peak loads of individual motor modules are thus optimally compensated. In addition, SINAMICS S120 Combi features a connection terminal for a TTL encoder. CNC training, offline programming for work preparation or professional CNC presentations: Wouldn’t it be great to use your PC for these tasks? No problem! With SinuTrain for SINUMERIK Operate, we offer a software system which can be operated and programmed exactly analogous to your SINUMERIK 828D BASIC M on the machine. The part program can be comfortably created and simulated with programGUIDE or with ShopMill/ShopTurn worksteps. Machining can be started right away after the program’s transfer to the CNC.
