Work in an office.

Working in a climate-controlled space

definitely has its perks, but there are

also some pitfalls to working at a comfy

desk.

Since we spend A LOT of time at work,

here are a few things I like to do to

make sure I stay healthy when I'm in the

office all week.

1 GET UP

Whether it's a walk to the restroom, the coffee station, or just a stretch, I try to get out of my chair at least once every 1.5 hours. Walking can do wonders for crunched up hips and legs; not to mention, it gives my eyes a nice break from screen time.

2 HYDRATEThis may seem like a no-brainer, but it can actually be difficult to remember to drink water throughout the day! I combat this by keeping a refillable water bottle on my desk and go through 1 -2 fill ups per work day.

3 SNACK

I don't know about you, but when 10;30am (and about 3pm) hits, my last meal has worn off and my stomach battles for my attention when work is full on. Bringing snacks with me helps make my day in the office more enjoyable. HEALTHY snacking here is key. For example, I may bring a mandarin, some strawberries, or mixed nuts. Definitely not the time for junk food.

SOCIALIZE4

In the course of an office day, there are lulls of quiet, in-the- zone business but there are also times for chatting while working. Not everyone goes through the same ebb and flow however, so having an awareness of the others around you is polite.  A smile and a "How's it going?" can go a long way while easing work tensionand reminding your colleagues you're on the same team.
