How to Activate your license of ARES Commander?

Introduction

This document describes the process to activate a full license (either Annual or Perpetual) of ARES

Commander Edition. It shows the different dialogs in the order of appearance during the activation

process.

1. Select “Activate”

Press the 'Activate'- button to start the activation process.

2. Select the Activation method

NB: It is much recommended to activate by Internet. If you decide to Activate by E-mail your request

may need to be processed manually by our Support Desk which will take some time.

The standard activation case is the Internet activation. If no Internet connection is available, please

use the email activation option.

3. Activation by Internet (recommended)

If you decided to Activate by Internet, please read the following instructions otherwise for Activation

by e-mail you can jump directly to page 12.

a. Create a Graebert Account

If you already created an Account before, you can enter your account data here and save time. If you

activated before the 30 days free Trial version you probably have already a Graebert Account. Just

enter the Email and Password, Press Next and you can jump to the page 10 of this manual for further

instructions. If you forgot your password you can use the button below to recover it.

If you never created an Account before, you will need to create one by pressing the blue “Sign up”

link as follows:

Note: To create a Graebert account works only via an Internet connection. If you have no Internet

connection you will need to use the Activation via E-mail.

After clicking the 'Sign up' link, the following user data form comes up. Please enter your user data

here.

Click on the Next button to continue the Activation process. Meanwhile we will have sent to your

mailbox a Confirmation message as follows. You need to confirm the Account creation using the link

we sent to verify your email. This is important because we will use this email to send you any

update and when you purchase a license or update it includes 12 months of updates and e-mail

support.

Click on the link circled in red here. You will be connected to your account on www.graebert.com.

Nothing else has to be done on this website, you don’t have to login:

Close the page and come back to the Product Activation.

When you have clicked on the link you can click on the next button below. If you stop here you can

always continue later as described on page 5.

b. Activate the Full version

Select the version type here. The 30 trial version can be activated without a product key. For the Full

version activation you have to enter your product key, which has been delivered after purchase.

If you have purchased a license (Perpetual

license or Annual plan), please choose Full

version. Time-limited trial version is for

your Free trial only.

After a successful activation you end up into the Product Activation dialog again. Now you press 'Run'

to evaluate the product.

4. Activation by E-Mail

a. Select Activation by E-mail

Choose the 'Email' activation option, when you have no Internet connection or an error had occurred

during the activation process.

NB: Activation by E-mail was created for users that do not

have an Internet connection on their computer. Please note

Activation by E-mail can take longer as it may require

manual checks from our Support Desk. If you can’t wait we

recommend to use the Internet activation.

b. Enter your information

c. Select the Full version and enter your product key

Select Full version (even if you purchased an Annual Plan), enter your Product key and press Next.

If you have purchased a license (Perpetual

license or Annual plan), please choose Full

version. Time-limited trial version is for

your Free trial only.

d. Send us your information

You entered your user data and your product key is displayed again. Please press the 'Send' button to

open the data in your email client. Please send the activation request email to sales@graebert.com .

Note:

The activation text file can be also found in your local Documents\ folder. The file is named

registration-ARES-Commander-Edition.txt.

After you have sent your email activation via your email client, you will get the following reply with

your license key. It can take some time until your email activation request is processed. Then, you

can suspend here the activation process. Later, when you received your license key from

licensing@graebert.com, you can enter the license key (outlined here in red) in the activation dialog.

Note:

The license key starts with the word LICENSE and ends with a quotation mark sign ". Please copy the

license key without changing its format.

e. Enter your License key

When you launch ARES you will still click on the Activate button:

But now that you have received a License key you will select “Enter License Key” here:

Next you should copy and paste the License you received in the E-mail:

Then click on the “Activate” button

The activation process is finished successfully. Via the 'Run'-button you can start the program now.

5. General Notes

ARES Commander can be run in three different modes. The three activation types are:

1. Demo Mode

This is the standard mode after the installation. In Demo Mode the program is not activated. You

can't use the export and plot functionality.

2. Trial Mode

In 30 days trial mode you can use the entire program functionality for 30 days. The only restriction

may be a watermark 'DEMOVERSION' on the output of the print command. After 30 days the trial

version changes back into Demo Mode.

3. Full Version Mode

When you activate in the Full Version Mode you have already obtained a 27 hexadecimal product key.

This version is either a permanent, time-unlimited version or an Annual license. Both offer the full set

of features.
