3 Products I have created

Page 3: How effective is the combination of your main

• I have created 3 products, my trailer, poster and magazine front cover. However to make sure the target audience know they are all related I have linked them together in different ways for one example of this is the title of the film ‘The Lipstick Murders’ is in the same font in each product this clearly shows the audience that these 3 different products are all about the same film.

• Another method I have used which is similar to the last is used the same grab quote on the poster, magazine and trailer, ‘You Never Know Who Is Watching’ this makes the audience think who it is on about and makes them want to see the film, if it is displayed on all 3 products a link will be established but they will also be reminded to think about who is watching making them want to see it more.

• Another way I have shown the 3 products are linked is by featuring the same actor/character in all 3 products this shows that he is the lead character and allows the audience to establish this which could draw them in to come see the film. It also shows the audience that the 3 products are about the same thing and include the same people especially this character it also the audience to question who is he?

• Finally I have used a similar house style through out my 3 products, I have used similar texts through out accompanied by the same colours red, black and white. The red through out the 3 products is used on only important information so it stands out from the rest of the text as usually red indicates something important. The white is usually used to shows sub headings or captions in the trailer this is still important information, but usually is in smaller text or on the screen for longer so the white text on a black background stands out better making it easier for the audience to read. Keeping it the same through each product sub-consciously lets the reader know they are related but also shows continuity.

• Through out the 3 products I have created each is in black and white this is a key convention of film noir and will let the audience know that its is a film noir, they can therefore make a judgement to whether they want to see the film or not or if they enjoy it, it could open doors up to a new genre making them want to see more film noirs.
