There are two ways couples can legally end a marriage, either with an annulment
or a divorce.
A divorce, or otherwise called a legal termination of a marriage, basically ends or cancels a valid marriage between a couple and returns them to their single status.
Annulmentturns a marriage null and void by proving to the court that a woman and a man werenever united in marriageas husband and wife.
Possible Grounds for Annulment
The husband or the wife can file for annulment if they find that their spouse has been practicing bigamy.
When either individual was actually not in the right state of mind during marriage and was completely unaware or did not know what was going on during the wedding.
● “Shotgun weddings” or hurried and forced weddings that are usually pushed onto the couple because of an unplanned pregnancy can be annulled.
