How did you attract/address your audience? To attract our audience we designed a variety of questionnaires and gave them to teenagers because we thought teenage audience would be more effective and they would also be more interested in our media product as we are teenagers ourselves so it means we know what teenage lifestyle is like. We went against our ops and created a teen drama because our audience being teenagers we wanted to create something they can relate to. We managed to create a character that the teen audience can relate to because we got a character that dresses in a typical indie style, and we also made him act in a modern teenage style because it makes the film more teenage style and also allows the audience to empathize with the character. We also chose to film in a location where most teenagers hang around because itʼs the city center; we know the locations that teenagers will relate to because we are teenagers ourselves and seeing a teen drama set in the place where we hang out makes us relate to it and enjoy it more. Here are the things that the audience chose to be the most important in a film: An original/good storyline An element of Action and Comedy Lots of people mentioned the Editing as an important factor. We found it really important to create a dramatic and an original storyline so our audience can be satisfied with their choice and our attempt to fulfill it. We thought a teen drama with a vogue storyline would be perfect for an original storyline even though it was hard coming up with an original storyline. Comedy was an element chosen by the audience but we didn't include it in our media product because we wanted to challenge our ability to make films because comedy is based on the acting and in this project itʼs not based on the acting, and we also felt that it is difficult to create a comedy film as the actors would have to be funny and suitable for the film. Our audience also picked action to be another element needed in a film; we managed to accomplish this as the protagonist gets punched by the antagonist. We felt this scene would be important for the audience as they chose action to be a good element in a film and we also used this shot because our female characters didn't show up. The original scene was meant to be the protagonist with a female character but we changed it to a violent scene mainly because of the female character not showing up but also because in our audience research action was chosen to be a good genre. In our audience research a lot of people mentioned editing to be an important aspect. We used a variety of editing techniques; we used straight cuts, fade and a flash transition. We used Final cut pro to edit our media product because we felt that Final cut pro is better to edit on than iMovie because it has better and more transitions. We also used another program to create our tittle; we think by creating the tittle should satisfy the audience as the said that editing is an important factor.
