2 WSU HOUSING

The Process

Applying to live on campus is a four-part process that involves submitting your housing application, receiving and returning/accepting your contract, selecting your housing preferences, and receiving your assignment.

The date you apply for housing is the date used to determine your priority when offering contracts and when assigning housing, so applying earlier means that you have a better chance of getting one of your top preferences.

You must be admission complete before applying for housing. You can apply for fall admission and housing beginning August 1. Spring admission and housing applications must be received by December 1.

Admissions applications are deemed complete when all items listed as application requirements have arrived and been processed by the Office of Admissions.

Upon admission to the University, students may apply/contract for housing. Priority for all campus housing is primarily established by academic classification (freshman, sophomore, junior, etc.) and the date the completed application/contract and payment are received.

Wichita State University makes every effort to accommodate housing requests, however due to space limitations, completion of a housing application/contract and receipt of payment does not guarantee a room assignment.

Please return the white copy of this completed form along with a $275 payment to the Office of Housing and Residence Life, 1845 Fairmount St., Box 141, Wichita, KS 67260-0141. Students wishing to apply/contract for Wheatshocker Only must be exempt from the Freshmen Residency Requirement.

Freshmen Residency Requirement: Full-time students who have fewer than 30 college semester hours are required to live on campus for one academic year (two semesters) or for one semester and two summer terms. Exceptions are made for students 21 years of age or older, married students and those students who live with parents or legal guardians and commute.

Please return a completed application along with a $275 payment to the Office of Housing and Residence Life, 1845 Fairmount St., Box 141, Wichita, KS 67260-0141. Students wishing to apply/contract for Wheatshocker Only must be exempt from the Freshmen Residency Requirement.
