The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Act of 1968, Section 106 (a)(2) provides the legislative authority for HUD to provide housing counseling services to low and moderate income families.

The West Palm Beach Housing Authority (WPBHA) is a HUD Certified Housing Counseling Agency. The WPBHA provides housing counseling and education to help individuals access safe, decent and affordable housing. Housing counseling is provided in a step by step approach tailored to the individual client’s need. The WPBHA will assist all individuals and families who knock at our door.

How does the Housing Counseling Program work?

Prospective homebuyers are provided education and understanding of the basics of homeownerships. With the F i r s t - T i m e H o m e b u ye r workshop, they will be introduced to the Home buying team such as the Lenders, R e a l t o r s , I n s p e c t o r s , Appraisers, Credit Counselors and Closing Title Agents. One-on-One Counseling to family on basis of the individual needs are provided to assist the homeowners to achieve their dream. We partner with other non-profit agencies and a d v o c a t e n e c e s s a r y assistance to sustain that dream. WPBHA wil l assist all individual and family that knock at our door. At the discretion of the Housing Authority, we will direct you to the right direction if the individual particular need could not be met.
