Sad farewell to Jean Harrison: Jean was part of the House of England since the 1950s. She is remembered most for her elegance and grooming- always looked like she had just stepped out of a band box! She was a very active member of the House of England for many years and always supportive. Her bread

pudding was outstanding! She was such a fun “Vanna” at the annual White elephant auctions.

She served HOE:

1962 Vice president

1964 President

1965-66 HPR delegate

1968 Vice President

1974-77 HPR delegate

1986 President

1988 secretary

1993-1994 secretary

2007-2008 secretary

She was also HPR secretary from 1964 through 1967, Pageant chairperson and coordinator for HPR Flights to

Europe back in the 1960s-70s, HPR woman of the year in 1965.

When Queen Elizabeth II visited San Diego in 1983, Jean was on the reception line outside the Museum of Art

in Balboa Park representing House of England and shook the Queen’s hand.

HARRY TO WED!

Harry designed the engagement ring!

The center stone is a diamond from

Botswana, a country that Prince Harry has

visited numerous times since he was a child

and which holds “special significance” for the

royal. “It is also a place the couple has spent time together over the last year and a half,” the palace said in a

statement. The ring also features two outside diamonds from the personal collection of the Harry’s mother, the

late Princess Diana.

Doctor Who: Get your first look at Jodie Whittaker's Time Lord

(Entertainment Weekly)

The BBC has given us our first proper look at the sartorial style Jodie Whittaker will

be sporting as the titular Time Lord in the corporation’s long-running time travel

show Doctor Who. Early Thursday, the official Doctor Who Twitter account posted

an image of Whittaker dressed in pants, suspenders, long coat, and striped shirt,

standing in front of her character’s time-and-spaceship, the TARDIS.

It was announced in July that the Broadchurch star had been cast as the Doctor by

new showrunner Chris Chibnall. Whittaker is the first woman to play the part.

“I’m beyond excited to begin this epic journey — with Chris and with every Whovian on this planet. It’s more

than an honor to play the Doctor,” Whittaker said in a statement at the time. “It means remembering everyone I

used to be while stepping forward to embrace everything the Doctor stands for: hope. I can’t wait.”

Whittaker will make her first appearance as the Doctor on this year’s special Christmas episode of the science

fiction show, which will be broadcast by BBC America.
