KIM Murray estab- lished a boutique archi- tectural practice in Young in 2008. He spent the previous 20 years working for high profile architectural practices in Sydney where he gained experi- ence in a wide variety of architectural projects including new homes, multi-residential devel- opments, commercial buildings, schools, hospi- tals, heritage buildings and more. Kim moved to Young in 2008 to embrace a tree change after years of city living. Why move to Young? Kim was captivated by a 100-year-old dilapi- dated stone house locat- ed on a run down grazing property near Bendick Murrell. The house needed extensive repair and ren- ovation which Kim has undertaken with passion and commitment. These attributes were also applied to restoring the degraded farm to a productive grazing and cropping enterprise. “It’s all about change and growth, reinventing yourself, embracing a challenge, learning new skills and bringing dreams and ideas into reality,” Kim said. The architectural design process trans- forms the client’s vision into reality by the cre- ation of a new building - whether it be a new house, renovating an existing building or cre- ating a new building to accommodate a business, educational, medical, retail or recreation facili- ty. “Understanding the client’s vision for the future is the first step in the design process,” Kim said. “From the initial meeting and discussions I develop a design brief for the building and involve the client throughout the design process,” he added. Kim provides a per- sonalised service with clients. He takes time to listen and understand the client’s needs to ensure the best possible out- come for the building project. Kim is always avail- able for a preliminary discussion or a site visit to look at your property or building block.
