The Hazards, rugged pink and red granite mountains,
rise out of the sea at Freycinet National Park,
Tasmania’s oldest park. Below the formations are the
gorgeous blue waters of Wineglass Bay, considered
one of the best beaches in Australia. While you’re on
the lookout for rare flora and fauna (this is a good
place for birdwatchers), you may come across sites
associated with the aborigines. Some areas of the
park are so remote, they have yet to be visited by
humans, who otherwise visit here for sea kayaking,
fishing, beachcombing and other water activities.
Kakadu National Park may be the only place on earth
where you can see both crocodiles and aboriginal rock
art. Aborigines have lived in the region for 40,000
years, creating their rock art in about 5,000 places.
Located in the Northern Territory, Kakadu is home to
diverse terrain, and flora and fauna, including
kangaroos and giant crocodiles – the Alligator River is
within park boundaries. It is the largest national park
in Australia; about half the size of Switzerland.
Situated inside the park is Ranger Uranium Mine, one
of the world’s most productive.
Nambung National Park is another place that
combines the ocean with outstanding rock
formations. Only these rock formations, some dating
back 3.6 billion years, aren’t in the water; they’re in
the adjacent Pinnacles Desert. Thousands of
pinnacles or pillars rise up from the yellow sand
bordering the Indian Ocean; some formations are
short and fat, others are skinny and taller. Wildlife is
abundant here, with 176 species of animals, so you

Robert Mondavi Private Selection BourbonBarrel Aged Cabernet Sauvignon
This special Bourbon barrel aged wine originates in the coastal vineyards of
Monterey County, CA, where the region’s dynamic, geologic past brings
forth fruit with an unmistakable sense of place. Grapes are picked at the
peak of ripeness, after which the wine is aged and blended to deliver
exceptional fruit flavors and complexity. Unique to this wine, a portion of
the blend is aged for an additional three months, using a combination of new
and used Kentucky Bourbon barrels, creating one of the first Bourbon
barrel aged wines produced in the United States. Bourbon barrels are 100% American oak barrels that have been charred to
help impart deep toasty flavors and hints of vanilla and brown sugar.
Cabernet Sauvignon is particularly suited for Bourbon barrel aging because its intensely rich fruit character isn’t overwhelmed by the flavors of the charred casks.
The wine is rich, weighty, and full bodied on the palette, and the 2014 vintage delivers
robust flavors of black cherry and blackberry. The Robert Mondavi Private Selection
Bourbon Barrel Aged Cabernet Sauvignon will be released in limited-production and is
available nationally now. Suggested retail price is $13.99 for 750mL.
If you want to store the fish more than one day, you should rub it and
wash it with salt. You can also use the vinegar instead of salt and then

OVEN-FRIED RANCH DRUMSTICKS
3/4 cup Original Bisquick™ mix
1 package (1 oz) ranch dressing & seasoning mix
1 teaspoon paprika
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 tablespoon water
2 1/2 to 3 lb chicken drumsticks (12 to 15 pieces)
1cup ranch dressing, if desired
Heat oven to 425°F. Line 13x9-inch pan with foil. Generously spray with cooking spray. . In shallow dish, mix Bisquick mix, dressing mix (dry) and paprika. In another shallow dish, mix egg and water. Dip chicken into egg mixture, then coat with Bisquick mixture. Place chicken in pan. Bake 35 minutes. Turn; bake about 15 minutes longer or until juice of chicken is clear when thickest part is cut to bone (180°F). Serve with prepared ranch dressing.
