TERMINOLOGY Worldspan’s Hotel Select provides availability, booking, pricing, confirmation, rules and policies for hundreds of hotel chains representing thousands of individual properties worldwide. Information on Hotel Select can be found in:

• HELP Pages Assistance on formats and codes for a specific topic HELP HOTEL will display a list of the topics in HELP

• INFO Pages Assistance on information for a specific topic INFO HOTEL will display a list of the topics in INFO

Hotel chains may participate in Hotel Select at different levels: Hotel Source (#)

• Hotel Source is a level of participation in Hotel Select. The availability and rates are returned directly from the individual hotel chain’s database and a confirmation is received when the hotel segment is booked.

Hotel Source participants may also participate in Integrated Hotel Source Availability. An availability status code is returned from the participating hotel’s database on the first screen of the hotel booking process (Hotel List) to identify the property’s availability status. Hotel chains not participating in Integrated Hotel Source Availability require another entry to request the availability status. For a list of hotels chains participating in Integrated Availability see: HC-INTEGRATED

• Hotel Source participants are identified in the system by the # symbol

Hotel AccessPlus ($)

• AccessPlus participants return an instant confirmation and a validated rate amount prior to ending the booking.

Hotel AccessPlus participants are identified in the system by the $ symbol

Non-AccessPlus associates (No symbol)

• Confirmation numbers are returned from non-AccessPlus associates after the booking has been ended in Worldspan. Once the hotel booking has been received by the hotel chain’s database they will return the confirmation number to the Worldspan booking.

STEP 1 - HOTEL LIST HELP HL A hotel list displays the property chain code, name and address as well as distance and direction from the selected location. The system default for the hotel list is a maximum of 40 mile radius from the city centre. The default can be changed to display hotels with an airport location and the distance may be designated with the Distance Option up to a maximum of 75 miles. A hotel list for a city can be displayed using:

• 3-letter City code, 3-letter Airport code or 4 – 6 letter Reference Point Code • Segment number from a displayed Passenger Name Record (PNR) • State code and Reference Point Name • Country Code and Reference Point Name

appears after the Distance/Direction it indicates that the exact location information for the property has not been verified

(j) Tab stops for PROPERTY AVAILABILITY, DETAIL or MORE PROPERTIES. Add the line number when tabbing to PROPERT AVAILABILITY or DETAIL.

If an option was not included in the original HL entry, the modification entry will retain all of the original options and add the new option to the Hotel List Display.
