Our Students

Rosanna Christie NC Travel and Tourism

It wasn’t until I was studying all aspects of the course that I realised how vast the Travel and Tourism Industry is, and that I would need to be highly skilled in customer service, administration, IT and have a good knowledge of tourist destinations. The course covers all this and more, no two days are the same, and you will learn to work as part of a team, gain an understanding of the Industry, and the exciting career opportunities that will be opened up to you in the UK or worldwide. The course is fun, interesting, not all study, you may even find yourself in the kitchen making sweets, there is role play to develop your customer skills, assessments to let you know how you are progressing and additional support should you need it.You may even get the chance to take part in Cabin Crewing at Exeter and there are other special days out and events organised throughout the course. This course has been the best decision I have made in a long time, so don’t just take my word for it, whether you want to work in a Travel Agents, Hotel or even a courier, perhaps one day be a pilot, you have to start somewhere and I recommend you start here.

Louise Cowan City and Guilds Introduction to Professional Cookery

Having been mainly a ‘stay at home mum’ for the last two years, working only part time in my husband’s bar - I was unsure what to expect, or how I would fit in. There is a wide mix of ages and abilities in our class, and the lecturers are brilliant. The course itself offers a great variety of both practical cookery and informative theory on hygiene, safety and hospitality to name but a few. I love my new challenge, and hoping it will give me the qualification I need to start preparing and serving lunches in the pub. I would definitely recommend West Lothian College as a great place to study Hospitality and Cookery.

The College is successful because we attract students who want to improve employment and career prospects.

Studying in America and EuropeWe are committed to providing a challenging educational experience to our students and as such we have developed links and partnerships with both American and European colleges to allow our students the opportunity to study abroad. As the hospitality world becomes increasingly global this can be a beneficial experience by raising cultural awareness of other countries, providing a different perspective of hospitality and developing foreign language skills.
