When the Greek gods left their home on Olympus for vacation, Greekmythology says that they went to Pelion, a mountain renowned for itsbeauty and considered to be their summerhouse. Volos, a beautifultown nestled at the foot of Pelion, provides a magnicent backdropfor pavli, a Mediterranean-style restaurant, whose name meanssummer house. The concept of pavli is to translate the experienceof enjoying a wonderful meal in a restaurant into the visual identity ofdining in a summerhouse beautiful enough to be visited by the Greekgods.

The people of Greece do not go to restaurants solely for diningit isall about the experience for them. Because their culture celebrateswith food and drink, their restaurants have become settings for lifesevents, celebrations, and ceremonies. pavli can accommodatethese events with a dining area divided into smaller spaces thatcan be adjusted for groups of all sizes while providing for eithersocial interaction or privacy. Throughout pavli, the cool colors of asummerhouse suggest a calmer, more inwardly oriented feeling sothat diners are better able to focus on their dinner companions andthe food. Water walls mimic the sound and feel of the nearby sea,while living walls bring to mind the beautiful surroundings where asummer house would be located. For both guests traveling to Volosand residents who are proud of its history, a restaurant that brings tomind dining in a summerhouse of the gods will be the perfect diningdestination.

When diners enter pavli by way of the custom tile oor, they will immediately feel like

they are on a luxurious vacation in a beautiful summerhouse. A soothing water featuresets the mood for a relaxing dining experience either in the main dining room, bar, orpatio. The soaring ceilings of the entry highlight warm wood shutters and emphasize thesize of this space, designed to accomodate large groups of waiting diners. Time will ywhile guests wait inside on the plush bench seating or outside by the cozy re pit.

The inviting bar at pavli is a comfortable place to have a drink with friends, share ameal from the full menu, or wait for a table to become available in the restaurant.Because drinking together is such an important part of the Greek culture, special

attention has been given to the design of pavlis bar. A generous tiled bar witha marble top sits under glowing bubble lights. A custom wine rack is a servicableyet decorative focal point. The generous windows across the front of the bar easilyallow passersby to see the appetizing food and drink and invite them in to enjoy therestaurants ambience and entertainment. With a choice of bar-height table seating,booths with a view of the charming street, or bar seating, patrons will be sure to enjoythe summerhouse experience in pavlis bar.

The dining area in pavli offers a choice of comfortable seating for any diningexperience. The curving banquette provides a exible place for large or small parties todine. The raised dining level gives diners the more intimate experience of being on thecovered patio of a summerhouse with the living wall evoking images of the outdoors.This area makes a convenient spot for dancing or a band when the tables are removed.The circular tables allow a more intimate seating arrangement while the adjoining boothareas provide another choice for large groups to enjoy the pavli experience.

The water wall is a beautiful and functional element that is the centerpiece of pavli.It anchors the tables in the open dining area, divides the dining oor, and providesdiners with a visual and auditory experience that will enhance the feeling of being on a

luxurious vacation in a summerhouse. Comfortable seating for groups both large andsmall cozies up to the water wall which acts as a screen to give diners privacy. Dining isan experience for Greek people, and at pavli, the unique water wall adds a sense ofatmosphere.

Two private dining rooms in pavli can accomodate two separate parties of up to 24people or can be merged to host one large group. The Skyfold Wall System betweenthe rooms allows this exibility to offer patrons two different dining experiences in onespace. Re-positionable chandeliers and movable tables easily allow the space to berecongured as needed. Curtains across the front open the rooms to the main diningroom when parties arent scheduled or provide privacy when needed.

The booth seating in pavli is a cozy place for upto six guests to enjoy an intimate meal. Becausefamilies are usually large in Greece, the over-sizedbooths provide plenty of room to accomodategroups. With the arched fronts and tile detailingto complete the summerhouse feeling, dining in abooth at Epavli is an enjoyable experience.
