• “I CAME TO CHICAGO TO GO MEDICAL SCHOOL AT NORTHwestern and saw what very wealthy, elite medicine was like. I met a professor there and he was very active in INCAR, The International Committee Against Racism, and the Progressive Labor Party. He started explaining some things politically that opened my eyes, and than suggested that I come over to County and take a look at it here. So I got on the El (subway)and came over here to da a clerkship, and I have been here since 1981”.

• “I think a lot of the liberal docs here-very, very nice people-work very hard to fix the system. I work hard in my eight hours to really try and take care of people the best I can, but I still spend a lot of time trying to convince people that they have to get rid of the system. I don’t think it can be fixed”
