Reception Theory: Reception Theory is basically how a film is perceived. A different meaning is created by every different viewer as they watch and process the movie. In short, reception theory places the viewer in context, taking into account all of the various factors that might influence how she or he will read and create meaning from the text.

Star Theory: Star theory, is basically the theory that the bigger a star is, the more

successful the movie would be. In horror, for example, Robert Englund and Anthony Hopkins who, respectively play Freddy

Krueger and Anthony Hopkins. Both actors have played horror characters in massive

series’ of movies. A bigger well known actor will attract a bigger and wider audience, some actors are famous for being horror

victims and killers.
