STUDENT SUCCESS - Congratulaons to Olivia L. who has achieved outstanding success on the sporng field in Soſtball over the years. She gained selecon in the North Sydney PSSA Soſtball Team and played at State level this year. Last weekend, Olivia competed in the Under 14 State Soſtball Championships and the team gained a bronze medal. Olivia was the youngest member of her team and was one of the pitchers. What an achievement and a talent Olivia! Congratulaons on your achievements in primary school. I wish you all the best for your future successes in the years ahead and thank you for your contribuons you have made to Hornsby North. FINAL K2020 TRANSITION EVENT - We have the final Transion Day for our Kindy 2020 on Wednesday 20 November, where they will enjoy a Teddy Bears Picnic. Currently, we have 7½ Kindy classes for 2020. If there are any outstanding enrolment forms for students starng at Hornsby North next year, could you please bring them in as soon as possible. Also, if your child is due to start next year and you havent contacted the school, please do so as soon as possible. SCHOOL FEES & CONTRIBUTIONS - Thank you to the parents who have made prompt payment following the Statements of Accounts being posted home last week. However, there is sll a substanal amount owing for the Bathurst Excursion, and other fees. Parents/Caregivers, please fix this up as soon as possible. I reassure parents that the school, like all schools, has a comprehensive Fire Safety Plan and the safety of your children will always be of paramount importance to the staff. Many received noces on Skoolbag yesterday, but to those who did not, our evacuaon point is Asquith Boys High School. If we have to evacuate, parents and caregivers will be asked to collect their children from ABHS, not from lines on the way there. I know parents understand the importance of this process. YEAR 1 REPTILE PARK EXCURSION - Following is a report from Mrs Hall:- Last week Year 1 visited the Reple Park at Somersby. The students have already presented impressive Minibeast projects in class this term and were able to meet some of the insects they had studied up close! Miss Laird, Miss Bell and a brave parent held a giant python and several students helped out at the show handling various reples. The show, as always, was informave and our students were complimented on their behaviour and good general knowledge. Thank you to all for your patience and understanding during the past weeks. The re-roofing program has had some problems related to a number of issues, but the DoE Officers have informed me that we are on track for a smooth finish to the program. UNIFORM SHOP - Do you have a child starting Kindergarten in 2020. Please be aware that you can now purchase your items from Term 4 onwards. The Uniform Shop is open on Mondays and Thursdays 8.45am to 9.45am. There is a full rack of sample sizes as well as good quality second hand items available to purchase. Come early to avoid the queues and new year price rises. The Uniform Shop will close after trade on Monday, 16 December and reopen late January 2020. BAND NEWS - A reminder the auditions are happening this weekend and next weekend so please get your booking forms into the Band Box ASAP. Thank you to all the volunteers who helped with the Band Festival on Sunday, 3 November. Events like these need many helpers and it was great to see the amount of people that helped from students, ex-students, parents, grandparents, teachers and Mrs Sumpton. Some of these volunteers were there from 6.00am in the morning till almost 8.00pm at night, thank you once again. Lisa Rawlings was the organizer of this event and has spent many hours working on hosting such a great event, Lisa was across all areas and in total control the whole time. Thank you for all your hard work and effort in running such a great Hornsby North Band Festival and hopefully you will be able to assist next year. Thank you, Gavin Hunter. SCHOOL BANKING - Rewards are a week delayed, they will be issued when we receive them. Please note that the Yeti Fluffy Notebook is no longer available to order. Community News - LEARN TAE KWON DO – (Australian Tae Kwon Do Chung Do Kwan Association). Established in the Northern Suburbs of Sydney since 1974. COLOURING IN COMPETITION FOR CAROLS AT ASQUITH OVAL - The Carols at Asquith Oval will be held on Sunday 8 December. If your child would like to participate in the Colouring Competition, the sheets are available in the Office foyer and should be taken to the Carols. A BBQ will be available from 6.00pm, with the Carols at 7.30pm.

From The Classroom - SCHOOL ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS - Week 4, Term 4: Eva, Violet, Henry, Olivia, Elly, Hana, Anna, Zachary, Isabella, Ethan, Denis x 2, Hollie & Mohammad x 2. KINDERGARTEN NEWS TOPIC - Week 6: Last week we wrote a recipe for peace. Use the provided template to write your own recipe. Thank you, Sharon Gates. PSSA CRICKET - Our Junior team played against the undefeated Warrawee P.S. and had a narrow 111-103 loss. This result highlighted the incredible improvement in our team as we previously lost to the same opposition by 55 runs back in March. The best bowlers were: Remi V. (0/1), Jeremy K. (1/5) and Zac B’shaw (1/6). The best batting pairs were: Nick Y. & Zac B. (29 runs), Luca S. & Jeremy K. (20 runs) and Remi V. & Kean D. (20 runs). Congratulations boys on an excellent performance! We are currently placed 3rd or 4th in the competition, so the next 2 matches will be very important in perhaps securing a spot in the Semi Finals. Our Seniors recorded a solid 66-48 victory against Warrawee P.S. The best batting pairs were: Maanav S. & Grant P. (21 runs), Jordan W. & Lars A. (17 runs) and Zac L. & Jayden H. (13 runs). The best bowlers were: Brendan W. (1/1), Zac L. (1/4), Lars A. (0/2) and Grant P. (0/2). This Friday we are playing against Mt Colah P.S. at Montview Oval. We are meeting outside the library at 8:50am and the drivers are: Westwood, Apostoloff, Salvi, McDougall and Kho-Thomas.
