One issue concerns the bus and the way in which children get off and make their way to their desnaon. It is important to proceed directly onto a footpath area and not wander onto a roadway into the path of cars who might not have a direct line of sight. The other issue concerns Bushlands Avenue. Any children who go to the Galston Road bus with Mrs Hall are ushered safely across the road, but a local resident who is frequently accessing and leaving her property at this me, is concerned about children going past and those who dash across the road between cars without looking carefully and proceeding in a manner whereby drivers can view them. We have addressed this at school, but it would be useful for parents to keep reminding their children about road safety. The website below is a useful resource which focuses on staying safe on and around buses for drivers, pedestrians, cyclists and passengers. roadsafety.transport.nsw.gov.au/campaigns/be-bus- aware/index.html Key points are: Plan ahead and do not rush. On the day, Years 4-6 are encouraged to come to school looking ‘French’ or wearing red, white and blue. Looking forward to a wonderful day. Mme Bennetts. PSSA NETBALL - Round 6 Vs Wideview. Juniors 3-1, Seniors 20-4. After some tough games over the last couple of weeks, we have finally been able to come away with two wins. Both teams were down a player so needed to step up and fill positions that they don’t normally play on the court. My Players of the Week go to Sophia, a Junior player who plays so well in every position on court and Selina who showed some amazing new found skills as our shooter. Congratulations girls. Last week the Senior girls played the first of their Knockout Rounds and were successful against a Combined Mountains Team from the Somersby area. We had organised to have four teams at Montview, so that we could continue the Knockout Competition without having to take more time off school. Unfortunately we missed out on going through to the third round and were knocked out of the Competition by a strong Mt Colah team. It was a great morning and the girls were able to play against teams from Somersby, Mt Colah and Galston and practice their skills. Thank you, Mary McGlynn.
