GROUP PHOTOS - Group Photos were taken today. Parents will be nofied through the Newsleer/Skoolbag App when Group photos are on display in the foyer. At that me, parents will be able to order from the displayed photos using an order envelope or view them online, using a school code which will be available once the photos are ready for purchase. EXCURSIONS - On Monday, our Year 3 students gained much from their excursion to Taronga Zoo. The Year 5 classes have visited Rouse Hill Homestead, site of the Toll House on the Windsor Road. They not only gained historical informaon, but were able to record the visual impact. This Friday, our Year 2 students are venturing forth to the Sea Life Aquarium. BAND RECRUITMENT DAY/EVENING - Band Recruitment Day is fast approaching. It will be held next Monday, 10 September. Class teachers of Year 2 students will bring their classes to the hall to try the different instruments. Students will be given a Handbook to take home to parents. This will provide much informaon about the Band Program. However, on Thursday evening, 13 September from 6.30pm— 8.30pm, parents and interested future Band members are invited to aend a special Informaon Evening. At this meeng, tutors will be available to advise parents and students about the instrument choice they are making and the Band Conductors will be able to answer quesons about commencing Band in 2019. ZONE ATHLETICS CARNIVAL - Congratulaons to the Zone competors who represented our school at the Zone Athlecs Carnival at Narrabeen Sports Centre last Friday. The aending teachers reported that the enthusiasm and effort was wonderful. All competors tried to achieve at the highest level possible to gain Personal Bests. A detailed report will be published as soon as the results are available. SCHOOL FEES AND CONTRIBUTIONS - The reminders for Term 3 fees have been posted. Thank you to parents and caregivers who have made payments. Parents in financial difficulty should speak to me. The preferred method of payment is the secure Parent Online Payment, via the school’s website. The Department does not recommend parents provide credit card details to the school, however, credit cards can be processed at the counter. Yesterday a service was held giving thanks for his life. He touched the lives of so many people in so many ways. I know that Mrs Sumpton is most appreciave of the thoughts that her family has received at this me. MUSIC FESTIVAL - On Monday aſternoon and evening, the Hornsby District Music Fesval is being held at Hornsby RSL Club. Students who are performing in addion to the Year 5 children who are in the massed choir include:- Manee—Kindergarten, Junior Choir, Boys’ Dance Group. Evening—Music & Movement, Junior Choir, Company Dance, Stage Band. If your child is performing in the Manee, please make sure you have returned the permission note. Those performing in the Evening should note the meeng me and locaon. All members of the school community are welcome to aend. Tickets are available from the school office—Adult $15.00, Concession/Senior $10.00 and Child $5.00. Addionally ckets can be purchased at the door. Our School Captains will be compering this event and some of our Senior students are performing individual items or assisng backstage. FATHER’S DAY - I trust all dads had a lovely day on Sunday. The excitement and enthusiasm at the Father’s Day Stall last Wednesday certainly indicated how valued our dads are in families and in the school family. Once again, I acknowledge the work of the dads in our school community and say “Thank you”.

Day is next Monday, 10 September. This is open to all Year 2 students and interested students from Years 3-5 not already in Band. Students will be taken to the hall at various times throughout the day to try out the instruments. A Band Handbook will be given to all students to take home and read with parents. We have a follow up Parent Information Evening on Thursday, 13 September from 6.30pm-8.30pm in the hall. All interested families are welcome to attend. Thank you, Catherine Pedersen, Band Committee.
