1. INTRODUCTION

These speakers have been designed foruse in harsh environmental conditions.

2. INSTALLATION

General

When installing and operating electricalequipment, requirements for selection,installation and operation should bereferred to. Additional national and/orlocal requirements may apply.

Ensure that all nuts, bolts and fixings aresecure. Ensure that appropriate stoppingplugs are used to blank off unused glandentry points. Sealing compound shouldbe applied to stopping plug threads tomaintain the IP rating of the unit.

The LBC 3428/00 is mounted via 2 x Ø7mm (Ø 0.28") fixing holes in the ‘u’shaped stirrup/mounting bracket. Ifrequired, the unit can be initially placedvia the Ø 13mm (0.51") central hole inthe stirrup. The unit can be rotated to therequired position and fixed via the twoother holes. The fixing holes accept M6screws or bolts. Bosch recommend theuse of stainless steel screws.

The elevation of the unit can be adjustedby loosening the 2 x M6 screws whichfasten the stirrup to the horn.

The unit can then be adjusted by rotatingto the required position and then tightening the M6 screws. The LBC3428/00 should be positioned such thatdebris, dust or water cannot settle in there-entrant horn.

Cable Termination

CAUTION: Before removing the coverassembly, ensure that the power to theunit is isolated. Unscrew the 2 off screwsholding the cover to the unit.

Remove to gain access to the interior ofthe enclosure. Cable termination shouldbe in accordance with specificationsapplying to the application.

Bosch recommend that all cables andcores should be fully identified. Ensurethat appropriate cable glands are usedand that the assembly is shrouded andcorrectly earthed. All cable glands shouldbe of an equivalent IP rating to that ofthe speaker. In order to maintain the IP rating of theunit, the cable glands should be sealed tothe unit using a sealing washer (if possible) and sealing compound. Once termination is complete, carefullypush the cover back onto the unit, avoiding damage to the seal. Tighten the2 off cover screws evenly, to ensure correct sealing.

3. OPERATION

The unit is powered directly. Differentsound levels can be obtained by selectingthe transformer tappings in the unit.

4. MAINTENANCE

During the working life of the unit, littleor no maintenance is required.

However, if abnormal or unusual environmental conditions occur due toplant damage or accident etc., then visualinspection is recommended.

If a fault should occur, it is recommendedthat the unit be returned to Bosch forrepair.
