Humanity- it’s an effervescent word, after all it adds more life to one’s self-existence. It upholds the yardstick of loving one another with mutual respect, fostering good relationships. Imagine a world which exists without this beautiful virtue – a world full of resentment and unsympathetic behaviour!

The great Mahatma Gandhi quoted- ‘An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind’. Humanity is indeed the biggest saviour. We need to start looking at each other with more compassion and less enmity. The current state of world affairs is indeed alarming. I strongly feel the lessons of humanity need to be revisited so that there is more peace and harmony ushered at a global level.

We come across many philanthropists, NGOs and Social Service organisations who take the extra leap to handhold people

and help them cope up in their lives. Organisations like Red Cross, UNICEF have made remarkable impacts and nurtured the social milieu. It’s our mind-set we need to work upon and take inspiration from the aforesaid drivers of the virtue of humanity.

Let’s get together and create a natural synergy of love between all of us. Let’s strive to become more tolerant and embrace a humane outlook towards life. The words of the great Dalai Lama seem befitting for a closure.

“World belongs to humanity, not this leader, that leader or that king or prince or religious leader. World belongs to humanity.” – Dalai Lama

We are the world, We are the Children

THE STELLAR SNAKESSnakes are my favourite animals. They are one of the most beautiful reptiles, I admire. Barring a few

countries, snakes are found all around the world -

Antarctica, Iceland, Ireland, Greenland and New Zealand to

name a few wherein we don’t easily find snakes. There are

over 3,000 species of snakes in the world and around 600 are venomous and over 200 are considered to be very venomous. King Cobra, Common Krait, Russell Viper,

Black Mamba are a few of the most venomous snakes. They usually prey on mice, frogs, toads, eggs, insects etc. They are known to shed their skin 4-12 times a year and are known for their beautiful hues and colours of skin. Snakes are an important part of the ecosystem and maintain a good balance of the food web. Let’s ensure that we do not kill snakes, if confronted with one, the authorised snake catchers should be duly informed. Save snakes !

Teamwork, Teamwork,Together we can do our dream work.Together we can do anything, But if we are alone we can do nothing.

If you are playing football and there is no one to kick the ball, What will happen in the football hall!If we are together we know each other’s love,And fly like a group of doves.

Wow! What fun! Together we can touch the sun.We will never be far away,And travel hand-in hand, in a good way.

Let’s make a team together,Put everyone like beautiful feathers. We are the world, we are the children,Teamwork is indeed our greatest lesson.

Friends I would like to share my thoughts on Library. It is

one of the most cherished places in a school. The library

is a place where books are kept. It is also a place where

unlimited knowledge is just waiting to be unravelled. The

person who carefully takes care of a library is called a

Librarian. I can spend hours sitting in a library and enjoy

reading the books. We are expected to maintain silence

in the library so that others don’t get disturbed. Today a

lot of digital content is available on the internet. However,

the charm of a library and the whole experience of reading

books is priceless!

We are the world, We are the Children

I love travelling and my favourite

location is one of the most magnificent

places in India - Rajasthan. It was an

absolute pleasure to visit Rajasthan with

my whole family. Our journey started

off with the gigantic architectural marvel

the Mehrangarh Fort of Jodhpur. This fort is a masterpiece in

all its merit. We got a breath taking view of ‘The Blue City’-

Jodhpur.

The next awe-inspiring destination was Jaisalmer, often

referred to as the ‘The Golden City’. The Jaisalmer Fort and

‘Longewala War Memorial’ will always remain etched in

my memories. The extraordinarily striking Thar desert along

with its Jeep rides and Camel rides will make you revisit the

picturesque location. We also visited the Pink City – Jaipur,

Amber Fort, Jaigarh Fort and the spectacular wax museum at

Nahargarh.

My vacation diary indeed remains incomplete without a

mention of the scrumptious Rajasthani cuisine. It is a must

visit destination for food enthusiasts. The most popular –

‘Gatte Ki Subzi’ was relished by one and all in the family!

Also, try to squeeze in some time to visit the Choke Dhani

village to witness the humongous Rajasthani hospitality and

rich culture. So when are you writing your dairy !

Another day, it was quite normal,But that was until the night came. The nights always have something ‘welcoming’ about them,But not this one, no, it was no game.

The soothing sound of the vast number of crickets chirping, They never failed to meet one’s eye,But nothing was welcoming this one night,There was something on the pry.

It was this one night, where none could sleep,As if something was supernatural down and deep.Cry, I might; nor could I swallow,The fear that brewed in me, made me feel hollow.

I fought the terror, it was just mere fright,Staying strong would help me, wasn’t I right? All I could do was wish it was true,That I would fight this fear and endure it all through.

The terrible consequences of the weird apocalypse that day,Followed me in many ways.Strong and united, we must all be,And then we would get another chance, to watch sunsets near the sea.Nivedita S T – Std. VII

Book Review

Dear Friends !

I’m here to share my thoughts about the book named ‘BOY’- which is

authored by Mr. Roald Dahl. He is a British novelist, story teller, and was a

fighter pilot during the war.

The Boy is a beautiful autobiography of the author wherein he slates his

journey of life, right from being a small kid to later adolescence. The words

chosen are lucid in style and make you exercise your imagination to a great

extent. It incorporates all types of life incidents which the author witnessed.

The book contains a wonderful tapestry of short stories wherein each story

makes the reader wonder what he or she would have done in similar situa-

tions. The author makes it all the more interesting by citing many anecdotes

and lots of interesting pictures picked up from his earlier days. The book is

humourous at various junctures which makes it a very engaging read.

I like the artistic cover of the book and love the way this non-fiction book

attracts my attention.

Find some time to make it a part of your good reads!

HUSSAIN SAGAR LAKE Hussain Sagar is a heart-shaped lake in Hyderabad,

Telangana. The major attraction of the lake is the large

monolithic Gautama Buddha Statue which stands on

the Gibraltar rock, in the middle of the lake. Quite

remarkably it was carved by 200 sculptors, for a period

of over two years. It is a very popular spot for boating,

sailing and sightseeing. I have visited the lake personally

wherein we were taken in a ferry to the statue. I was

quite awestruck at the sheer size of the Gautama

Buddha statue ! It was a 18-meter-high Buddha statue

which was chiselled out of a white granite rock,

weighing 450 tons. Isn’t that incredible? If you find

some time please make the Hussain Sagar Lake a part of

your itinerary too!

The versatile basketball player Michael Jordan is inspirational. He was a game changer, someone who totally transformed the game. In the above mentioned quote, Michael Jordan has uplifted the concept of failure. He has shown us the path of accepting failure as a stepping stone for success. He has emphasised the fact that failures have a profound effect on our growth, thus teaching us many important life lessons. The quote has encouraged me not to detest failures and take them in stride. I hope you will also pick up your thoughts from here and tread the path of success by learning from your failures in life.
